Corporate speak. What else would one expect them to say? Of course Wright gave the sugar candied, lying fairy floss that we are now expected to accept

Corporate speak is we thank him for his work and wish him luck for the future

Used to make me smile
And I knew if they'd take their chance
The Pies could make the people dance
And maybe we'd be happy for a while

But November made me shiver
With every paper home deliverd
Bad news on the doorstep
I couldn't take one more step
I can't remember if I cried
When I read about how hard he tried
It made me wonder if he lied
But today the he had been fired

So, bye-bye, List manager Ned Guy....

Great post.
it brought a smile to my morning!

“Didn’t watch much footy” Can anyone fill me in on who said this? It’s pretty damning. Don’t let the door hit your ass on the way out, Ned.

I don't know how good or bad Ned was at his job, but it seems to me that our disastrous salary cap pressures had been building even before he was appointed. Also, he would have been under enormous pressure to sign De Goey, Grundy and Moore, even on huge contracts. Every club in the land would have signed those 3 on big dosh. The one that irks me the most, however, was the ridiculous deal to get Beams back to the club. Blind Freddy could see we were getting 'damaged goods'. Furthermore, now that we look like heading for a bottom 4 berth, the decision to trade away this year's first round draft pick to the Lions, to enable us to get a couple more players from the 2020 draft, is looking more and more like another massive phuck up.

Seriously, when you consider our drafting/trading of Scharenberg, Freeman, Aish, Stephenson, Treloar, Mayne and Wells, it's no wonder we are now in a complete re-building phase. FFS, we need a complete overhaul of our recruiting and list management department. Hopefully Graham Wright will help us restore some semblance of professionalism to this crucially important area of our footy department.

As for Ned, no way he's solely responsible for the debacle we've been witnessing recently.

I thought this was interesting as well. Not sad to see him go, but these sorts of salary cap pressures were years in the making and it looks like the board had their fingers all over the Beams and Grundy deals. Smells a bit like a fall guy to me.

Yes, Rendall was sacked by the Crows after allegedly saying a club should only draft Aboriginal players if they have one white parent.

After this incident, he was quickly snapped up by Collingwood. The judgement and awareness of our club in the Indigenous space beggars belief.
