If they were looking to retain him there will be a couple of very experienced
replacement for his two current sidekicks

Justin Leppitsch
John Baker

I like Leppa but he left Richmond to go into the media as he was fatigued but the industry and coaching. He was looking for a mental break.
To me that is a bad sign. Reminds me of when St Kilda paid Blight a squillion to make a comeback from retirement and it all turned to poo.

The media is soft on him [Buckley]. Teague is copping it left, right and centre and very little is said about Buckley in comparison. There's only been one or two media pundits who have openly questioned his coaching future.

I guess the difference is Buckley has had us winning finals in each of the previous 3 seasons. Teague has not.

I've made this point many times. Collingwood always wins finals. I know that, you know that, Media knows that and everyone knows that.

And what you, I, Media and everyone else knows is that we can't win GF's.

Talking and winning Finals is just NOT good enough for this club anymore - it should be seen as a failure from now on!!!

Not to mention the years (including this year) that Buckley will actually not make finals. Collingwood will likely finish bottom 4. When the 2017 ‘review’ happened Collingwood had not made finals for 3 years! So Buckley gets the most incredible leeway of any modern day coach. Good luck to the Buckley supporters, if he gets another contract it will be an incredible personal achievement.

^^^^

Either scenario will divide the club and Jeff Brown will have a nightmare task of uniting the different factions into standing side by side. I sincerely hope that they all know and respect the fact that the club is always greater than an individual. United we stand to fly the black and white flag.

Games to come.

Fremantle (H), St Kilda, Carlton, West Coast (H), Hawthorn, Essendon

6 games against 5 opponents currently bottom 8.

4 of those sides were also bottom 8 in 2020.

Melbourne, Richmond, Port Adelaide (A), Brisbane (A)

The big scalps.

12 games in and we have a winning percentage of 25 for season 2021.

If Buckley wants any hope of securing a contract extension then he needs to have the side producing better football in the remaining 10 matches and win at least 5 of them.

Looking at our draw and I feel that's not asking to much.

There are 6 games to come where we the supporters have a right to consider ourselves a realistic chance. I don't think it's unreasonable to set the pass mark at a minimum of 4 wins from these matches.

The other 4 games are much harder assignments but leaving this season without at least 1 big scalp would be a poor outcome.

Over to you Bucks.

We have not had the rub of the green in a few losing grand finals but it is also the case that at other times we were beaten by better teams

Age breaking story that Bucks is about to step down as senior coach, possible this week after Melbourne game.
