Inherited a premiership team from his predecessor (sound familiar?)
Since then he is 6-13 in finals, with a sole GF appearance (sound familiar?)
If they win this year I'll eat my words but until then - H&A specialist _________________ https://forever.collingwoodfc.com.au/sav-sinks-the-dockers/ |

I suggest we will bring in a few people and keep Bucks- similar to 2018 with Longmuir and Boyd
Yze, Burnsy and possibly Brad Scott would be ideal
As evidenced in 2018 (and lamely used by some to justify Buck's departure) Buckley is a competent head coach- and great people manager- when he is allowed to do what he does best and has excellent support staff.
The loss of Longmuir and Boyd- along with loss of Buddha Hocking- left our supporting coaching staff well short. |

i am 73 years old / been a CFC supporter since 1953.
difficult time for our club
the biggest problem is not the coach
the biggest problem is the standard of players CFC has
not even old JOCK could get CFC out of this mess .
i do not care who the next coach is with low standard players nothing will be achieved .
that is why i said previously Graham Wright is the key to the rebuild.
rebuild who ever is coach // if all goes well// CFC may get to 8 in 3/4/5/ years
reality not hope is the bet policy
oh by the way Jock Mchale is not available .
guys as much criticism as you may like to throw at buckle or anyone else at cfc nothing will change reality that cfc is on a long journey _________________ THERE IS NO SHADING IT IS AS PLAIN AS BLACK AND WHITE THAT THERE IS ONLY BLACK AND WHITE |

Great post. ^^^^
Need to somehow improve our list. I say rate all the players on the senior list, keep those rated 1 - 12, trade any of the rest for young players or early draft picks. Build the team around these players. Provide Bucks as much support as feasible and work hard for success. _________________ Don't confuse your current path with your final destination. There is no immediate fix sem but that does not mean that the coach just remains despite poor performances. Buckley has had a good shot at it - 10 years. His handling of the off season trade reasoning as the spokesperson of the club was a train wreck. I believe that tactically his coaching methodology is outdated, unimaginative and is conducive to dour footballers. There are many other problems than the coach, but he is one of them and needs to go. |

I just want a change of coach.
That might get me back to going to a few games.
I find Buck's coaching is tedious and boring.
Don't care whether a new coach is possibly better or worse.
Who bloody knows.
I just want a change for my personal interest.
10 years is enough for me. |

Yep, it's funny to see people saying the problem is everyone else at the club but the Coach...
10 years is more than enough with no success and no signs of any coming any time soon.
If you renewed him, you're basically giving him 15 years due to the rebuild needed which is completely unprecedented. Then when he still fails, we're another 5 years further behind!!! |

i agree with responses to my last submission.
Yes a new coach would hopefully bring in a change of culture
From left field .
There are three commentators I respect for their reading of the game and their tactical ability.
Cary / Breretom /Mcquane.
If you read Mcquanes articles they are" analyse " at its best .
His is the man and one of the first people i would get on board for his brilliant tactical ability .
i have always been loyal to CFC and at times it is hard for me to face the reality that a champion of the club a " good guy " will have to leave CFC [ hard for me to write this ].
i have no idea who the next coach will be but as i have said the player standard is woeful
and Graham Wright has a massive job ahead of him .
i have been lucky enough to see the best since 1953 and unfortunately to see the worst and today it is the latter . _________________ THERE IS NO SHADING IT IS AS PLAIN AS BLACK AND WHITE THAT THERE IS ONLY BLACK AND WHITE |

I agree with those 3 assessments.
Left field. Mick McGuane as coach no problem. _________________ Woodsman forever |

Our list isn't too bad. Sink 20-30 games experience into our newbies the team's performance will improve. A bit of tinkering around the edges - a tall mobile marking forward, a small crumbing forward, some more help out in the middle and a tall defensive back to cover for Moore and Roughead. Melbourne were in a much worse situation than us a couple of season's ago. They go out and recruit Lever and May to help out their defense and then pick up Ben Brown this year in attack. A couple of players can make all the difference. We on the other hand haven't recruited any mature players since Beams, who was a write off and did our salary cap in the process. Really it's no surprise where we stand today today but it's useless crying over spilled milk. We just have to take our medicine and work our way back up the ladder. Make the right calls this year and next and we could be fighting for a premiership again by 2023. |

True but even a good worker needs to keep their tools sharp 😕 _________________ Don't confuse your current path with your final destination. Just because it's dark and stormy now doesn't meant that you aren't headed for glorious sunshine! |

Hard to disagree with such a positive post. How good would that be?😄👌 _________________ Don't confuse your current path with your final destination. Just because it's dark and stormy now doesn't meant that you aren't headed for glorious sunshine! |

I wholeheartedly agree. We have an exciting bunch of newbies in McCreery, Henry, Poulter, Macrae, Rantall, Bianco, Kelly, Wilson, McInnes as well as a few others. There is a lot of talent there. Get 30 games into each of them and we will be in much better shape to contend again. |
