How many Pies supporters in WA have a Swan Districts connection?

I went to the round 1 game at Basso oval & noticed quite a few patrons, including heaps of kids, wearing Collingwood gear.

Swans have started the season better than most expected, exciting times!

Love this video from the club website. Played with Paul Saylor at Bassendean and Phil 'Magic' Narkle was the local garbo when I was a kid. Great way to keep his fitness up, chasing a truck around, carrying bins every morning!

Another win for Swans on the weekend. Sitting 2nd on the ladder. Ressies looking solid also, destroyed East Perth on Saturday and sit 2nd as well.

A huge game this weekend for Swans! Subiaco at Bassendean Oval.

After going down by 9 points to West Perth last week, the boys need to win this to keep in touch with the top 5.
Corey Gault continues his fantastic form, 26 disposals, 7 marks & 36 hit outs. He really is in scintillating form..... Sandover medal form?

The reserves (3rd) & colts (2nd) are travelling nicely also. Swan Districts once again, proving to be a great source of future AFL players.

Have to wonder if we had of persevered and got Gault to stay, would he have developed or was he always going to be more ruck than forward.

The 2 games I've watched live, he has dominated. Very strong overhead and a great kick on goal.
It isn't AFL though, but he has been sensational since coming back, two best & fairest (Swan medal).
Averaging 30 hit outs and 20 disposals. A big reason Swans have surged this year. His taps to advantage are sublime.

Subi got up by 8 points in the league, with Swans taking the 2's (1 point) and colts (8 points) narrowly.

Must win game this weekend against East Fremantle. Only % separates the 2 sides in 5th & 6th, with Swans wanting to get back into the top 5.

A few of us going to the pre game legends luncheon at 12. Should be a great event.

Jonathon Marsh is having a very solid season so far for the Sharks, after having the last 2 seasons off. Averaging; 6 marks 19 possessions and 2.2 goals a game.

Good 44 point win for the boys today. After 8 & 9 point losses the last 2 weeks it's good to be back in the winners circle and nudging back up to 4th on the ladder.
The McGoos also had a handy 42 point win to consolidate 2nd on the ladder, the colts (also 2nd on the ladder) play tomorrow.

The boys from Bassendean have bounced back into contention a lot quicker than most expected. It's a real credit to the club the way they get the place back on track. Swans lose a heap of players every year through to the AFL system and the depth in our zone is sensational.

At the start of the year, Swans were 25/1 for the flag. I can't find a market at the minute, but we'd be 5/1 right now and a real shot at a handy finals campaign from what I've seen.

* Marsh was amongst the Sharks best, a handy game.

Biggest crowd of the year showed up at Bassendean Oval on Saturday (4,300)... but Swans didn't!

Were outclassed all day by a much hungrier West Perth. 14.9 - 7.5

A tough game against Subi (2nd) this week at Leederville, then Claremont (1st) at Claremont.... have to win at least 1 of those. Followed by 3 in a row at home. Have to just put that one behind them and move on.

Colts and Reserves both had solid wins.

The clubroom now sells Carlton Zeros after my email a few weeks back. Good old Bassendean, always get a smart arse comment from behind the bar when ordering a zero, always!

Bounced back sensationally with a 1 point win over Subiaco!

Ended an 11 game losing streak against the Lions and sets it up perfectly for a finals challenge.

Another victory to the boys from Bassendean, which all but seals a finals berth.
With 6 games remaining Swans sit 5th (only 4 points and % from the top) in a tightly bunched top 5. The top 5 is 3 games clear of those outside.

Swans do have to play reigning premier South Fremantle twice and also meet Claremont again before the top 5 is set.

The reserves are also going to be playing finals, along with the top of the table Colts team. What a great side we have in our U/20's, only 1 loss this season and a % of 170.

Not that I'm a fan, but the girls play Peel in the GF down at Mandurah today.

Swans playing league finals for the first time since 2017. Playing West Perth in an Elimination final on Sunday at Joondalup.... just up the road a few k from here. Flew home last night and looking forward to going Smile

The Reserves finished in third place and will play a Qualifying Final against Perth @ Fremantle Oval on Saturday.

The Colts are rewarded with a week off for finishing 1st.

Swans go into the game as massive underdogs. Given no hope, the 50/1 shot for the flag go in without big man Gault. Out for the season with a bad concussion in the 2nd last round.
West Perth have had the better of Swans this season. The last meeting saw the Cardies give Swans a lesson at Bassendean Oval, winning by 46 points.
The game at Joondalup back in May, was a lot closer affair, Swans leading at half time by 27 points, only adding 2 points in a dismal 2nd half and going down by 9 points.

Swans best football can take this game and whilst they dropped the last 2 games (Claremont by 22 & South Freo by 5 points) of the regular season, their form isn't too bad going into this match.

In what was one of the best games of footy I've been to in a long time, the Plucky Swans just missed out on causing a big upset. Going down 13.8 (86) to West Perths 14.6 (90).

Leading at every change, the Black & Whites went down when West Perth goaled with just seconds remaining on the clock.

The boys from Bassendean held a slender 2 point lead at the last break. But when the Cardies kicked the 1st 3 goals of the last quarter, it looked like they would run away with it as the home crowd lit up.
Swans had other ideas and when Lewis Jetta goaled calmly form 45m to gain back the lead with 90 seconds to go, the black and whites looked home.

There was a ferocious 60 seconds of tackles and ball ups between the half forward lines, before west broke forward and a lucky kick landed in the lap of the WP forward.... that was all she wrote.

A fantastic year for the Club. Hopefully our Ressies can bounce back from their narrow Qualifying final loss yesterday and our Colts can win a spot in the GF with a 2nd semi win next week.

Ressies lost 1st semi and are out.

Colts lost only their 2nd game of the year in the 2nd semi and now have to win the Prelim to make the GF.

Not 1 win between the 3 grades in 4 finals so far.

The Colts won the prelim by 2 points and get the chance at the flag against the Tigers this weekend.
