We could surprise them by missing our flight over. On a serious note we mentally scarred them last year and then mentally scared ourselves ever since. |

There will lots of talk about how we accounted for them on their home deck in last year's final. This will be completely inappropriate. They are coming off an embarrassing loss and we will not have recovered from last week's drubbing. WCE by plenty and the Pies will be looking down the barrel of a disappointing ANZAC Day loss. Queen's Birthday doesn't look any more promising. We are at the beginning of a long cold unrewarding few weeks ahead, I'm afraid. _________________ There are 10 types of people in this world, those that understand binary and those that don't. |

I am concerned for this week's match.
This could get very very ugly.
If Buckley plays the kids it will be lambs to the slaughter.
Think Jack Watts against us in his debut. Our kids will be destroyed.
This should be the game to end C Brown, WHE, JT and Mayne's careers - let them cop the punishment then drop them all for Anzac Day and start fresh with the new breed. |

If this match up doesn’t show Buckley how far we have fallen and he still wants to front up then what are the board waiting for? _________________ no second chances |

The reasons we won last time was Cox’s first quarter and our ridiculous accurate kicking. The destroyed us out of the middle with centre square clearance goals every other time there was a centre square bounce (start of quarter or post-goal). This could get ugly... _________________ Est. 2002 |

If we were indeed playing the kids and they were, as you say, lambs to the slaughter, someone as courageous and experienced as Mayne would be among the first you'd want out there to help. _________________ All watched over by machines of loving grace |

It's hard to see us winning this game, but I'm not prepared to throw the towel in, as many here seem to have done.
This would be a good opportunity to throw Quaynor into the midfield to give us some pace and skill. A midfield group rotating Pendles, Greenwood, Crisp, Quaynor, Sidey and Daicos can get the job done. They will need to rove to Nick Nat.
If Cox and De Goey put in blinders, we can scare the bejeezus out of the Wet toast.
Pies by 3 points. |

The Eagles in Perth is the hardest road trip in the AFL, they are a quality side with a lot of mature bodies and after their second half capitulation against the Saints will be out for blood.
We all witnessed how much Henry struggled in round 1 (not surprisingly) and up against a Premiership contender in Perth I'd rather we go conservative with selection for 1 more week and look towards Anzac day against a young Essendon side as the starting point for regeneration of the side. _________________ He's mad. Moore and Howe into the forward line
Cox into the ruck
Madgen & roughie on Kennedy and Darling
Grundy roaming CHB/kick behind the ball
Cameron on Oscar Allen
See how that goes. _________________ - Side By Side - |

We're not stupid enough to ruck Cameron against them this time, though, are we? |

Packed out Optus Stadium is going to be hell since there's no capacity limit. No Adams is hard enough but blooding kids on this stage will work if done wisely.
Buckley needs to tell whoever's being included that they will no be dropped based on form this week (Macrae, Kelly, Rantall, McCreery etc) This will take the pressure off them wanting to perform and to play with a more relaxed approach. Unlike when Keane was booted out after his debut. I don't mind seeing a 10 goal belting but the Weagles haven't been travelling too hot lately. If we can see a glimpse of speed from what Sydney and GWS produced last week from their 'kids' it'll be a great way to look ahead into the season.
We aren't contenders with the current game plan, but things can change to pave the way for the future. Faith lies in Bucks. _________________ Smoking shadows behind the mirrors - Travis Cloke |

Unfortunately, the WCE probably has the best forward line in the competition (Kennedy, Darling, Allen, Ryan and now Pettrucelle.
I don't think we should be making bold changes to our defence under these circumstances.
WCE has Yeo, Hurn and Shuey out. Absence of Yeo and shuey will give us a little relief in the midfield.
If McRae is ready for AFL, i would bring him in to our midfield and drop Callum Brown. We will need a big body to compensate for Tay, so Greenwood replaces him. It is hard to suggest dropping WHE now, as he played a much better game against GWS. _________________ Free Julian Assange!!

That's a very, very slow midfield even with Quaynor included.
Not good for WA if it's dry.
They will be cut to pieces. |
