Sorry I disagree about Moore s kicking. That for me, is the worst part of his game. Shallow kick and not precise with short kicks either.

Before we need specialist personnel up forward we need a half-decent forward structure. The transition into forward 50 needs improvement also. I would content that between Cox and Checkers we have the talent for target forwards. Checkers is a beautiful contested mark and a reliable set shot - especially from around 50. Cox, if he was played properly at around 25-30 metres out from goal would be unbeatable with decent delivery. With our current structures and ineffective delivery into forward 50 Moore would not make much difference.

Or Moore could be the best target in the comp! We don't know yet

We can't deliver to the biggest target in the game (Cox) so I can't see Moore being much different. Our forward structure and running patterns are shite. Darcy's athletic ability would only be any good if he had space to work with, We can't manufacture that now so I doubt that it would be any different if he was to swing up forward.

You freaking kidding me?

Moore is 10x more athletic than Cox

Ross Lyon said Moore is the most athletic big man in the comp, since Buddy Franklin

Cox can only take 1 type of mark and it needs to be set up perfectly for him to do that ( on top of his head )

Moore is a Marking machine, can fly in from the side, fly in late from behind the pack, courages marks backing into the pack, lightning fast leads ( very important ) the list goes on and on

This is a big call, but you can Quote me on it...

IF Moore moves Forward..

Then Degoey becomes Robin..

Buckley needs to role the dice by having Maynard in the mid-field. He wants to play their and was started the season horribly so far. Maybe this weakens our backline too much, taking Crisp and Maynard out, but our team could look like this:

B: Madgen, Roughead, Quaynor
HB: Noble, Moore, Howe
M: Daicos, Pendlebury, Crisp
HF: Elliott, Mihocek, Sidebottom
F: De Goey, Cox, Ruscoe
Foll: Grundy, Adams, Maynard
Bench: Murphy, Sier, T Brown, Kelly

This would be an elite starting 6 midfield, and we would still have a decent backline I think and it could release De Goey and Sidebottom forward to kick the needed goals. It all really depends on how our bottom players do such as Murphy, Sier, T Brown, Kelly and Ruscoe because they all have potential but if they dont live up to it then our depth will be very weak, like it is right now.

Elliot is out for the season

It's possible he never plays for Collingwood again

He's out until the bye rounds, and even if he was out for the year, the structure would still be very similar

The Board should roll the dice.

As for Moore, yes would be great to see him up forward but the midfield has to get it there quickly and let's see what happens.

It's a good idea to have Maynard helping Adams either him or Crisp are good options

However I feel like we need to fix our foundation more than our structure

Moore in the goal square (FF) can have a greater positive effect on the team overall imo and make much more impact. That is if the defense holds up. In which I would want probaly both Crisp and Maynard back in Moore moves.

Quaynor could be the one that gets unleashed in midfield, I think he oozes more class and pace while still being a bull on the ball.

FB : Maynard Roughead Greenwood
HB : Crisp Howe/Kelly Mayne
C : T.Brown Pendlebury McCrae
HF : Steele Mihocek McCreery
FF : Daicos Moore Degoey
Foll : Grundy Adams Quaynor

I would go for Quaynor over Maynard because I would still like Maynards experience in the backline, but more importantly I think Quaynor can become a geniune Superstar, he can slice teams open by foot and by speed.

Quaynor blitzing and kicking to Moore could become the hook up and these 2 guys have the attacking skill to drive Collingwood to a Premiership if they take another step

But buckley is playing them in defense, hmmmmm

I think the answer to moving it quickly is Quaynor as rover

Guy is our next superstar, could easily become a 30/5/5 guy disp/clearence/tackle

Quaynor kicking into a fwd line that has Moore as a Focal point, with JDG & Daicos lurking gives us a chance to win anygame

I agree with the comments already mentioned here that our biggest issue is decision making and execution with our forward entries.
However I don't think moving Moore forward is rolling dice, I think it is common sense.

Who is the best key position player on Collingwood's list right now?

A: Darcy Moore

You have your best key position player in the forward line not in the back line.

Thankyou

Moore is Batman
JDG is Robin
Cox is the Riddler

Think about it!

Its been about 5 years since Moore played Forward.

It's actually possible that he could be better than Prime Franklin right now.

A hybrid of Nick Reiwolt X Lance Franklin.

I'm not joking, Moore could infact be a 4 goal a game on average player.

Moore could be capable of winning us a flag off his own boot...

But we dont know, because he is playing in defense.

The more I ponder this one, the more it seems like pure madness...

Darcy Moore 2016 highlights : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fw_cAINpvWY

What a Beast

Look at the first Speccy on Rance and the attitude after the mark. Look at the courage in the mark on Anzac day.

Shooting Star alright...

I think I could really use a wish right now...

"When you lose the game by a point, you've obviously done enough right to be in the game for a long time and we were ahead on the scoreboard for most of the match," Buckley said.
