FF : Daicos Moore Degoey

Rest of the team should be accountable. These 3 guys should be expected to contribute 8-10 goals per game with free roam

Thoughts?

I say this because Moore actually wants to play fwd ( Buckley has said this ). And I think he is ready to takeover the comp. And imagine having Degoey as your side-kick. Could be an upstoppable combo

I think Bucks should roll the dice.

Moore and Degoey are the only 2 players in our team IMO who can realistically kick 50 or more. And we need them both to do that.

Question?

Who else can kick 50 or more? Besides Degoey and Moore?

You said this in another thread: I used to call for Moore to play fwd, and I still think Ross may play him there. But thank God he is in defense at the moment because shit would really be ugly with our structure if he wasn't.

And I 100% agree with that. Moore is too important for our defense, the thought of him being with De Goey and Daics in the forward line could be amazing, but then we are taking away arguably the best defender in the comp to experiment with him up forward.

Wouldn't hurt, depends how we play. It really depends on if we think we're a realistic chance of doing something this year. I obviously do not share these thoughts but I remain open minded - it'll depend on how the kids play this year bottom line.

I originally wanted him forward, but really we needed him down back - and even though he's been a standout in defence this year we are in a state of flux.

I would prefer FF: Sidebottom Moore Degoey with young Josh either at HF or a Wing.

PS: What happens to Cox if we did the above? imo he plays in the square or he doesn't play.

Putting our best defender up forward would be desperate and idiotic, sorry.

The alternative is Howe. But really we _must_ do something. This is why I wanted us to take a punt on Paddy McCartin (and imo he'll go in the mid season draft due to the way the game has changed).

Before we need specialist personnel up forward we need a half-decent forward structure. The transition into forward 50 needs improvement also. I would content that between Cox and Checkers we have the talent for target forwards. Checkers is a beautiful contested mark and a reliable set shot - especially from around 50. Cox, if he was played properly at around 25-30 metres out from goal would be unbeatable with decent delivery. With our current structures and ineffective delivery into forward 50 Moore would not make much difference.

If the above happens then I guess Cox gets dropped

Or Moore could be the best target in the comp! We don't know yet

It's a hard one.

Buckley needs to role the dice by having Maynard in the mid-field. He wants to play their and was started the season horribly so far. Maybe this weakens our backline too much, taking Crisp and Maynard out, but our team could look like this:

B: Madgen, Roughead, Quaynor
HB: Noble, Moore, Howe
M: Daicos, Pendlebury, Crisp
HF: Elliott, Mihocek, Sidebottom
F: De Goey, Cox, Ruscoe
Foll: Grundy, Adams, Maynard
Bench: Murphy, Sier, T Brown, Kelly

This would be an elite starting 6 midfield, and we would still have a decent backline I think and it could release De Goey and Sidebottom forward to kick the needed goals. It all really depends on how our bottom players do such as Murphy, Sier, T Brown, Kelly and Ruscoe because they all have potential but if they dont live up to it then our depth will be very weak, like it is right now.

Elliot is out for the season

It's possible he never plays for Collingwood again

Langdon played CHB in the GF

Howe can definetly be an alternative

More to gain with Moore in attack than defense

We can't deliver to the biggest target in the game (Cox) so I can't see Moore being much different. Our forward structure and running patterns are shite. Darcy's athletic ability would only be any good if he had space to work with, We can't manufacture that now so I doubt that it would be any different if he was to swing up forward.
