Moore was kicking 25 goals a year as a 21-22 year old, with that much potential in him, He could have had a breakout year in the next season or 2 and rapidly jumped up to 50-70 goals like most other elite key forwards do.
I actually believe Moore could potentially score more goals than Cox and Mihocek combined..

Who do you believe is the better marking option? Cox or Mihocek or Moore? |
Moore is a great mark and I recognise the problem with the anaemic forward line, but turning the team on its head wont fix that.
What must be fixed is how we deliver the ball forward and forwards being aware of their teammates. How many times do we see 2 - 3 Collingwood forwards contest the same ball kicked inside 50. That's 4 - 6 players when you count opponents plus 1 floating defender.
Hard to mark a ball when 7 players are jumping at it. That's what I a saying about Moore. He can't beat 6 other players. |

At the absoloute very least of reward. Moore takes the best defender away from Cox, Checkers and JDG.

What makes you think that we will be able to magically enhance our ball delivery and win a flag with this fwd line?

It was his second season lol. 24 goals from 17 games is a good return for Moore as a 21 year old you kidding me? How many Goals did he unselfishly give to Cloke and Cox? Who gave Cox his first goal? Moore kicked 5 goals against Bulldogs in his 3rd game and set-up Cloke with 2.
It's enough to display what he could do then, and what he could be now.
That's the problem with this club, that in my opinion has become a JOKE. We have potentially the best key-forward in the comp and everybody thinks they are a genius keeping him in the defensive position!!!!
WHY?
Coz we made the 2018 GF without him? Guess what? Enough time has moved past now and it dont work! you want proof!
1-3 so far this season, heading into Slaughterhouse in the West...
Embarressed by Geelong in the last final we played ( pants pulled down )
Darcy Moore could have be leading the Coleman medal right now in an Alternate-Universe and guess what? Howe has gone back to his old job of Intercepting...

Really Llyody really!!! Very observant indeed. You didn't kick a 100 goals in a season a few times for no reason.
Let me put it this way - You can't have a connection with the forward line if you don't have a forward line.
All this nonsense talk about the connection between the mids and forwards over the years is just a poor excuse of poorly developed/drafted players for the forward line especially.
