There is no chance Luke Hodge will be the next Collingwood coach. He needs to do an apprenticeship first.

Collingwood will look at an experienced coach for sure and I think they will throw everything at Clarko to get him over. If that fails Lyon or Scott will be in the frame.

Personally I would like them to knock on Matthew Knights and Gary Ayres door.

Luke hodge? Seriously. For goodness sake. Normally anyone who wants to be a coach goes and sit in a coaching box and learn some things. They also don’t live in another state and suddenly coach a first grade national team in another state without producing any evidence he wants to coach at some time.
Hodge is happy in Brisbane, cruising down the road to his local MSFC and watching his son play under 12s? And fronting up for an easy meal with c7.

Great captains/players don’t always make great coaches. Wink

Hodgey would have to give up golf if he became a senior club coach anyway, and that ain’t ever happening. Doubt he’d want the pressure of the worst most hated club in the land.

And if Ross Lyon was so good, he’d still be coaching right now.

Nothing wrong with waiting for the right opportunity...

Agreed, he has put himself out of the running for jobs before out of choice. He's obviously waiting for the 'right' opportunity.

I remain in Bucks camp. Having lost 3 of our best 22 players, this year should be a re-build one, with us missing finals, yet I believe Bucks has us playing well enough to make the 8. We easily beat Carlton, who were picked as big improvers, and we lost by a lousy point to one of the very top sides in Brissy.
I was devastated after our round one performance, but since then we have rebounded well and if we can win the next couple, we should be back in the 8.

Having said that, if Graham Wright, our head of footy, believes that Bucks has run his race, then I hope he leaves on great terms. Like him or loathe him, no-one can dispute that Bucks has given his all for Collingwood, as a player, captain and coach.

Why would Wright be the sole decision maker? And if he is, has he been brought into do, among other things, the coup de grace on Buckley?

Fair article - backs up a lot of what I and others have been saying recently.

C Brown is flawed IMO. The others we need to see. Write this year off now and the let’s get something for the future. Bucks has to see that or be replaced. I would rather finish 12th with time into the kids than finish 8th and out first week.

Any other year and our extensive injury list would have meant that 5 or 6 or the newbies would have already been blooded.

So the Swans are now the poster boys for playing kids.
LOL what else do you do when your previous two finishes were 15th and 16th and you get handed all those early picks.

That's because - how could anyone replace 'Nathan Buckley' our hero and savior - imo no matter who's installed as our next club coach, it's odds on that they'll be a riot (maybe barring Clarkson..).

There'll be an even bigger riot if they give Buckley a new contract, his supporters are very quickly dwindling.
