I have always felt that Grundy has struggled to recover from the hiding Nic Nat gave him. I wonder whether that had a significant effect on his self belief.

When did Natanui ever beat Grundy? That's a myth.

^ Last time they played, both coaches gave Nic Nat best on ground.

But P4S will no doubt tell us both coaches should be sacked.

^ Natanui flatters to deceive. He looks spectacular and does almost nothing against us.

I have been so bemused by the particularly baseless view that Natanui beats Grundy that I have taken to doing goal by goal analyses of extended passages of play leading to every goal in recent West Coast/Collingwood games to try to discern the influence Natanui is said to have that I don't see - you'll find them in the relevant threads in the Match forum. It's remarkable how little influence Natanui has in any head to head contest with Grundy.

^ OK. Here's my goal by goal review of that game: https://www.magpies.net/nick/bb/viewtopic.php?t=87859&start=330

(It's the last post on that page.) What part do you disagree with?

The matchup of Nic Nat v Grundy in this match highlights one thing only and that is the All Australian selectors certainly didn’t get it wrong.

Listen Grundy, I'll let you in on a little secret...those small taps you do down to your feet don't effing work.
In fact if you didn't notice, the opposition smalls are onto that one quicker than our mids, who funnily enough are usually 5metres away, behind you, or to the side, or anywhere else but at your feet.

I don't want to be making any judgment on our super smart coaches here, but take this one as read. Here's an idea...how about whacking the thing as far as you can, and in our direction. You did that once 2 nights ago, and I nearly fell off my chair. Over to you.

I noticed Big O went the big punch forward a few times last night, was quite effective, I reckon we should bring it into the mix a bit more

Most have already applauded the performance of our team especially Adams, Moore, Grundy, Sidey and De Goey.

These are all our gun players and are expected to perform well each week. However, I was particularly pleased with the form of Sier, who used his strength and bulk to get the ball in packs and withstand tackling pressure to get quick handballs out to others. That's what we need him to do every week. He doesn't need to get a lot of kicks or kick goals. He is in our team to impose his strong body on packs and to get the ball to our more outside players. Imo, this was his best ever performance for us, and hopefully he can build on it to have a strong impact each week. If he can do this, it will dramatically improve the output and efficiency of our entire midfield group.

My only concern from the game was the poor form (again) of C. Brown. The kid is courageous and has good speed, but his overall skill level seems sub par imo. I don't want to damn a young kid doing his best, but unlike his brother Tyler, I'm not convinced he deserves a senior spot atm. Still, if Bucks and the other coaches believe in him, then I'll bow to their greater wisdom.

Did the umps screw us again with a ball clearly out of bounds in THAT pocket.

Gibbons goal shouldn't have been, from the vision I saw.

Surely this some kind of laugh at Collingwood's expense post 1979.
