Voss or Leppa.
Both were senior coaches, but have been forced to refine their skills as assistant coaches. That tells me they can swallow their pride and aren't arrogant know it all a$$holes. _________________ Fighting against the objectification of woman. |

Right.. ... so no-one as yet can answer my questions above??????
Are we then stuck with Bucks until the end of the season?
Best we can hope for then is injection of youth and a change of game plan. |

I think you CAN appoint any assistant coach but are forbidden from poaching a current senior coach.
Any assistant can breach their current contract if it means a "promotion". |

No ones answered because no one here knows the answer - or if they do, they wouldn't be spreading something like that on a public forum.
If you're happy for a more general answer is yes of course the club has the capability to do as you suggest, as I said before.. when it's over its over best to end immediately to minimus damage, does the club have the will to do such a thing and make the change is another matter - presently it seems we're on auto-pilot till we actually get a real replacement president.
Frankly it's weak and shows exactly where our clubs at... which is rock bottom. Forget wooden spoons but this club is in a freefall spin until we get some positive direction again. _________________ All Aboard!! Choo Choo!!! |

Many thanks for that vital information. It's appreciated. |

Clearly no one in our box should remain.
Who realistically can we get to lead us out of this mess we created.
Clarkson? Hird? Pyke? Lyon? Hodge?
We need a change ASAP. I fear for the team in Perth if he plays all the kids.
Lambs to the slaughter. |
This is my early shortlist. Doesn't neccessarily mean I endorse all of them but they will be mentioned I'm sure.
Coaches with senior AFL coaching experience
- Alastair Clarkson
- Don Pyke
- Ross Lyon
- Brad Scott
- Michael Voss
- Justin Leppitsch
Assistant coaches
- Sam Mitchell
- Adam Kingsley
- Blake Caracella
- Scott Burns
- Adem Yze _________________ | 1902 | 1903 | 1910 | 1917 | 1919 | 1927 | 1928 | 1929 | 1930 | 1935 | 1936 | 1953 | 1958 | 1990 | 2010 | 2023 | |

Thank you Wolf. A general answer is just fine. I just wanted to know if an interim coach could be appointed from outside the club.
So, we are also stymied by the board's present situation then, given that they probably lack the courage to be decisive whilst in limbo themselves. What a f^*king mess!!
Looks like sticking with Bucks until the end of the season is what will happen. Again, we can only hope that he and his coaching team will do what's best for the future and leave the team in the best possible state for an incoming new coach. |

Most likely need to add choco and ayres even though they're no chance.
Heard good things about Adam Yze, imo it's already past Burnsy and frankly we want an outsider. _________________ All Aboard!! Choo Choo!!! |

Thanks Jezza. This is what I like to see ..... looking with an eye for the future.
It will help us get through what will be a pretty bleak winter I reckon (apart from seeing how our youth measure up). |

What is your definition of a short list? I'll give you a hand.
Scratch Voss, Leppitsch, Mitchell and Yze for starters.
It's pretty simple - tell Buckley to resign or else. (Haircut pay-out at best)
Immediately give Budda the season with a sincere apology.
Pay out the unwanted assistants.
The player leadership group must be scarred and/or stale.
Engage Hodgey to work with Budda to shake it up.
Because Number 10 will become the next under the microscope, that's just how it works. |

Referring to Jezza's list....... apart from the obvious number one option, Voss keeps hovering in my mind. Reasons are:
* he knows unequivocally what it takes to be a premiership player in a premiership team
* he was coached by one of the best
* he's working alongside one of the best current coaches in Hinkley (who BTW is endorsing a game plan suited to today's parameters)
* as whatsinaname mentioned, he's obviously willing to improve his armoury of coaching skills
* he's motivated to be in the coaching game long term, otherwise he would've exited permanently after his tenure with Brisbane |

Justin Leppitsch gave Adam Kingsley a glowing report (published in SEN 2 days ago).Kingsley would have to know what he is doing, as he is the Tigers midfield and stoppages coach. Has alot of experience at other clubs as well (St Kilda and PA) before joining the Tigers. Sounds to me like we should sound this guy out, and pretty much immediately. _________________ Free Julian Assange!!
