The English certainly squandered a good start! |

England 3/355.
Lunch, Day 2.
Root 156*.
This is Root's third 150+ score in three Tests.
After Day 1, Root correctly urged his team to score 600-700 runs in the first innings. The problem he's addressing is that moronic England and Oz batsmen score 450 and think they're heroes. But it's a 600 pitch. India then laugh to themselves, score 650, and bundle out the moronic England or Oz batsmen for under 100 on the fifth day. At the end of the Test, the moronic batsmen think they are heroes for their first-innings runs, but India has won by an innings. (Look at their last tours to India. Oz was worse, because our mob should have learnt from England's failures.)

Commentators at lunch described the wicket as "still pretty good". I've seen major freeways that behaved less like roads. |

Root is within sight of a double century. Stokes fell short of a century (82).
England have passed 400 with 6 wickets in hand. Less than 300 to go to meet the target! |

It's hard to see how T10 isn't an improvement on this - at least it is over quickly. |

Root brings up 200 with a 6.
A nice way to celebrate his 100th Test. And a big start to the year for him after a disappointing 2020. |
