Would people please try to respect the concept of this thread? It is intended as a way of letting Nicksters keep up to date on what's happening on the injury front. It is not a "discussion" thread - it's an update thread.

Don't speculate.

Don't make up rubbish.

Don't give us your prognosis (even if you are Jamie Elliott's surgeon).

Just state things about injuries/recoveries/changes to status or time on the sideline etc that you have heard, watched or read and can substantiate with a reliable link to a reputable source.

You can post anything you like (subject to the Forum Rules) about other issues of interest in other threads. You can start a new thread, where appropriate. Just please don't post those sorts of things in this thread.

Buckley said today that Elliott heard the 'crack'. Never a good sign.

I forgot to mention; it's worth noting that Grundy and and De Goey both missed training today.

Both will be available to face the Lions and missed todays session due to feeling a bit under the weather. See, they're human after all.

Also worth nothing that the same thing happened to Maynard last week and he went on to have a very quiet game.

Both Gundy and JDG have had covid tests that have come back ok. Both players will return to the club on Wednesday. Hopefully they dont have quiet games like Maynard did last week.

And afl.com.au's take:

Quote:
Trent Bianco - Knee (4-6 weeks)
Jamie Elliott - Leg (10-12 weeks)

Elliott underwent surgery to repair a fractured fibula on Friday and will miss up to three months. Bianco is expected to return to running inside the next month after swelling around his knee. Will Kelly (shoulder), Reef McInnes (finger) and Mark Keane (finger) will all play in a VFL practice match this weekend. Brodie Grundy and Jordan De Goey are fit to tackle Brisbane following negative COVID-19 tests after missing training on Monday. - Mitch Cleary

Well we have no injuries from the game against the Lions. Just our pride.

Mayne went into the rooms for a concussion test but was ok to continue.

Eyes on the VFL practice match now, with a few players returning.

EDIT: some reports Mihocek left the field with an injury moments before the final siren. No word on what the injury was yet, or if it's significant.

^ ^ ^
Correct about Miochek. AFL had him listed as injured.
With about two minutes to go, he goes to ground after that hard chase in front of the boundary line and grabs at his lower back. He went off but wouldn’t have been able to come back anyway because that very likely was to have been our last interchange ( given that we used them all )

We lost the VFL practice game today, but there was no injury news to report.

McInnes, Kelly and Keane all played and got through ok.

This leaves Bianco and Elliott on the injury list, with a question mark over Mayne and Mihocek, who both had concerns late in Thursday nights game. However, there's been no news or reports on either player.

VFL report to be published tomorrow on the clubs website, injury report on Monday night.

He's the assistant coach of the AFLW team & won't be flying to Brisbane with them as we are playing at the G on Sat night. That's what the headline refers to.
