Still a relatively short list
Twisted Evil Twisted Evil

Trent Bianco (knee) - Expected return: 1-2 weeks.
(Has returned to contact training and should be available for VFL action as soon as next week).

Jeremy Howe (hamstring) - Expected return: 2-3 weeks
(Expected to return for round 9 against Sydney).

Taylor Adams (knee) - Expected return: 5-7 weeks.
(Positive news is his recovery is going well).

Jamie Elliott (lower leg) - Expected return: 5-7 weeks.
(Back running. Recovery going well).

Levi Greenwood (concussion) - Expected return: TBA
(Club being cautions. Shouldn't miss too many games).

No injuries from the VFL and it seems nothing from todays AFL game either. It is a short list, especially compared to other years. Three of our best 22 are missing.

Still waiting for the clubs report this week.

Here is afl.com.aus take;

Quote:
Greenwood will be assessed through the concussion protocols after missing their past two games. Cox sat out the VFL win over Gold Coast on Friday night having pulled up sore the week prior with hamstring tightness. Howe, Elliott and Adams are progressing their running at training this week. - Mitch Cleary

https://www.afl.com.au/news/injury-news

Levi Greenwood - Concussion (TEST)
Trent Bianco - Knee (TEST)
Mason Cox - Hamstring (TEST)
Jeremy Howe - Hamstring (1-2 weeks)
Jamie Elliott - Leg (4-6 weeks)
Taylor Adams - Knee (5-7 weeks)

If Bianco, Levi and Cox return to the VFL this week, that would be great. Howe eyeing off Sydney, cant wait for that. Jaime and Adams getting closer.

Reef McInnes is on crutches after what appears to be an ankle injury in the VFL game today.

Look out for news on this later today.

Roughead and Murphy both left the game early. I heard that Murph passed a concussion test, but that wasn't from sn official source.

We'll wait for news on both there.

We were looking good re; injuries with it coming down to three guys, but after today it could be six guys on there.

Bucks reckons the club will try to get approval for both Murphy and Roughead to play next week, as they both passed their concussion tests by the docs during the game.

Howe looks like he is gone for the rest of the season. Requires surgery after aggravating scar tissue in his hamstring.

Don’t know whether it was caused by him pushing to get back for next week.

Murphy and Roughead out for the mandatory 12 days. Further protocols beyond game day rules them out. Player wellbeing must be the priority.

<Snip. If you want to talk about "injury curses" and "not getting a fair go with a healthy list" and the like, please do so in the injury discussion thread https://www.magpies.net/nick/bb/viewtopic.php?t=88570&start=45 , not this one. Thanks, Pies4shaw for BBMods>

From CFC website:

Anton Tohill (adductor) - Expected return: Test for this weekend

Took no further part in the VFL match against Coburg after adductor tightness surfaced in the first half. Scans cleared Tohill of any damage and will be a test ahead of the weekend.

Taylor Adams (knee) - Expected return: 3-4 weeks

Jamie Elliott (lower leg) - Expected return: 4-5 weeks

Levi Greenwood (concussion) - Expected return: TBA

Still suffering concussion symptoms when increasing training load. Greenwood has gone back to low level running conditioning and will aim to build up.

Jeremy Howe (hamstring) - Expected return: 12-14 weeks

Max Lynch (calf) - Expected return: 2 weeks

Calf complaint after the round 3 VFL match. Lynch will complete running conditioning this week and move into full football training next week.

Reef McInnes (syndesmosis) - Expected return: 8-10 weeks

Injured his ankle early in round 4 of the VFL. Medium grade syndesmosis injury, positively won't require surgery.

Nathan Murphy (concussion) - Expected return: 1 week

Jordan Roughead (concussion) - Expected return: 1 week

Thank you DB.

Here is afl.com.au's take:

Quote:
Howe is headed for surgery to repair the hamstring injury he further damaged while training on Saturday. The high-flying defender had been hoping to return this week, but another assessment showed scar tissue had healed over the hamstring graft that repaired his PCL injury last year, and would have to be surgically removed. Adams and Elliott are building up to return, but McInnes will need to recover from a syndesmosis injury that doesn't require surgery. Roughead and Murphy have been ruled out with concussion, while there's no timeline for a Greenwood return with the veteran still experiencing concussion symptoms. - Mitch Cleary
