Next Republican primary is South Carolina on Saturday (results coming through Sunday our time). I suspect this could be the last stand for Haley, given it's her home state and Trump is leading her by about 30% in the polls. Maybe she intends to stay in to make a point, but these campaigns are expensive, and funding is going to dry up pretty quickly now it's clear that she has no realistic prospect – short of Trump dropping dead, in which case the field would in theory be open to whoever wanted to run anyway, even if they previously dropped out.

Maybe she’s listening to the social media experts who believe Trump is going to prison and then she’ll become the nominee!

Oh man, they finally got him:

https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2024/feb/20/presidents-ranking-trump-biden-list

Quote:
Donald Trump finished 45th and rock bottom of a list ranking US presidents by greatness, trailing even “historically calamitous chief executives” who failed to stop the civil war or botched its aftermath.

Worse for the likely Republican nominee this year, his probable opponent, Joe Biden, debuted at No 14.

Not sure how Trump can come back from this.

Oh and let’s see what these scholars have to say about Biden:

Quote:
“Biden’s most important achievements may be that he rescued the presidency from Trump, resumed a more traditional style of presidential leadership and is gearing up to keep the office out of his predecessor’s hands this fall,” Justin Vaughn and Brandon Rottinghaus, the political scientists behind the survey, wrote in the Los Angeles Times.

So his greatest qualities are beating Trump, potentially beating Trump and not being Trump. Is 14th really high enough given all of those achievements?

It'll make it all the more awkward for Biden when he loses to Trump in November

Well, at least he's unlikely to have any bad (or other) memories of the experience.

Did they rank VPs?

What score did Kamala get for being female and having minority blood?

Trump crushed Haley in South Carolina. Haley is only staying in the race in her efforts to do a Bradbury.

Yep, 60% to 40%. Actually closer than many were predicting, but not nearly close enough to suggest that she ever had any realistic chance of winning this (or any) primary.

40% is enough to inspire hope.

😝 🤪 🤣

You right wingers are more delusional than Carlscum fans expecting them to be premiers this season 🤓 Poor old Trumpie hasn’t got a hope in hell!

Good comparison Laughing

Interesting that even if Trump went to jail for insurrection many of his supporters still believe he's fit enough to be President. These loonies love quoting the Constitution until it doesn't fit their agenda. In saying that he has got his crew in the Supreme Court. I laughed as he's now comparing himself to being Black and oppressed and Black people are now supporting him. Here's the mob that loved oppressing, killing, and enslaving Black people who are now getting the Black vote. You can't make this stuff up.

Actually it wasn't always that way. Lincoln was Republican, albeit the party was rebadged for that election under the name National Union party.

Apart from your wishful thinking, not sure why you think he's no chance. That seems different to pretty much every poll.
