Had a brief check on the training of the AFL/VFL w teams last night was around 7pm at the what ever the name centre on the oval there.

Spoke for a little while to one of the trainers there.

They did say the oval has had a thicker and top dressed the surface of the oval to make it alot spongy and softer. This was done last october/november. The ground is looking great and i did happen walk onto it and is feels soft. They (ground staff) are going to keep the water up too. In the past they had problems with the watering systems for the oval now they have a much advanced system and alot more reliable too.

As with the men they said alls going well they are looking forward to see the development of the younger players. Barring injury theres a nice vibe around.
The trainer did say they are starting to look around for a new coach for after bucks has left (cant come sooner) and maybe 2 assistants too but it all takes time they say.
They said the AFL season is going ahead as pre planned and as regarding crowds it maybe full capacity if all goes well regarding the covid19.

The girls looked in good shape and they say the season for them is very soon too.

All in all a good feeling.

i just want a nice smooth season and players to keep out of trouble off field about time they pulled their head in and start to play proper footy. And a good run of injury free too would help too.

Not expecting a flag but a nice solid year and every thing goes well and smoothly.

The trainer did hint that the centre will have an area a focal area for the collingwood fans supporters and alike like a social club open event days nights also during the week at discounted prices too.
Was good time they had such a facility there something for the fans would be good.
Also a bistro type of place for the fans too and a nice bar/s.
Currently the merchandise shop is getting a make over and an expansion too. Along with the front reception too.
So there are alot of things happening to make the place better.
Ill like it fan friendly and a bit more like a modern type of Victoria Park.
And there maybe a gym that can be used too there.
I would be great if the place opened up a bit and not feel sooo excusive for the players and alike.
Still miss the good old vic park but they make the centre alot better.
As said make it fan friendly and appealing.

So then we would have won 1-2 flags the past 3 years if we had have just watered the training over and made it more spongy.

Mickey Mouse operation then.

Hang on, if this is right what about all the assurances from the club that the surface of the training ground was just fine?

Well it was the players who had the problems, not the administrators😆

Who hear reckons if all goes well and if we are smart be a real force in 2 years in the AFL and hopefully pencil in our next premiership in say 2 years I feel we are slowly but surely starting to get the wheels in motion. I feel like say 2022 or 2023 say. 2 years to sort ourselves out then we are a powerhouse on field
