Again with kelly and monkey is looking back into our selfs the doesn’t work just look at Buckley.
The only good choice ex Collingwood is graham Wright was wanting Wright for a long while now.
The rest we need to look outside.

Over coffee with fellow Pie supporter he recalled that Graham Wright was approached to come across during the 2017 Review—but knocked it back

Like to see an astute prudent business type of president stay away from any one associated with the media.
Need a business type person like a ceo of a highly successful company who has the runs on the board. Same can be said to the senior coaching someone who is proven and has the runs on the board.

Name out of left field for ruck coach is Brad Ottens. He is the ruck coach at Geelong....got them to finals and a grand final with what ruckman??? .see if he can finally teach Grundy to punch the ball towards our forward line...

^^^^

Fair dinkum 🙄 if Grundy doesn’t know that by now as a senior AFL ruckman, I have no confidence that he will ever get that into his thick skull 🤬😡

The strange thing is Lazza, I don't know why more rucks are not going for the bash forward. This is not just a Grundy thing, in this day and age where meters gained is such a important stat. And forward choas ball can work as well and the pin point pass into the forward line.

Why are more ruckman not going for the forward fist punch atleast a few times a game?

This fine tap work to your own feet thing strikes me as over done. Why not think more outside the box...or square in this case 😃.

I think it's possibly unfair to blame Grundy for not doing this - it would have more to do with him following instructions / gameplan than anything....

derkd, I remember a former Geelong ruckman named Burke (forget his first name) who used to consistently hit the ball deep into their forward line and he created many scoring opportunities. That was a great tactic to use occasionally.

Helps to have 3 Brownlow medallists in your midfield plus another who was an A grader.

Or - given the extra room to work in with a stoppage clearing hit out - it helped turn them into Brownlow medalists? Wink

Yes, that was as good a midfield as there's possibly ever been but I'm sure Pendles and Sidey would relish the extra space to work in... Smile
