Hey wouldn’t it be sweet to pick up Adam Treloar from... us. The best thing is he’s spent years at Collingwood, knows the players, knows our staff & how we play. I think he even has a locker & a parking spot.
A lot of upside there!

Looking at the past few weeks, Patton and Scully. I remember the uproar when the Hawks got them for nothing. I remember some Pies fans asking why we dont get the players we need.

Only concern is that Wright brought them in??

Scully did look ok for the Hawks at one point, but has now proven to be a bust. Patton was a guy that we felt sorry for after all the injuries, but after recent events has shown himself to be quite an idiot. And a complete bust.

The club said they did their homework on Tom McDonald, Jesse Hogan and Ben Brown and decided not to pursue. Other names who were passed on included McCartin and McCarthy. Some were glad and didnt want to relive the Q-Stick or Jesse White recruitments. Some were annoyed because we still have not plugged that spot at FF.

With Brown already having knee troubles, it looks though we may have made the right call there. We'll have to wait and see if we were right on Hogan and McDonald.

But I guess that just because a player is available, doesn't make him the right fit. As Patton and Scully have proven.

Very valid post.
Every time we “ miss out “ on someone, it’s the same posters who claim were a rabble, were not a destination club, no one wants to come here, etc, etc.
You never hear back from them when history goes onto to prove it was the right call.
Doesn’t help when you don’t have any cap money left over either. We didn’t really know that at the time but now it’s all out in the open.

The Hawks virtually got them both for nothing, trade wise but they certainly weren’t playing for nothing, contract wise.
Even in footy, you don’t get many chances at a free lunch.
