AFL site has each clubs new player who they believe will play round one

They have Mc Creery as our most likely I guess due to our forward needs

Number one in 50 metre tackles in SAFL last year

Any other options come to mind

Everyone was talking up McInnes as the one we really wanted before the draft, so I'll be boring and go with him.

Poulter is only 18 but from the highlights he looks ready.
McCreery yes but Ill go with Rantall for first of the young ones.

with so many recruits I expect we will see some young blood early. I don't know who will come in first but I suspect it will be one of last years crop.
Rantall

We need to be patient with him: I’d be very surprised if he made it this year. Has a lot of upside but needs a lot of development too from my reading about him last year.

I know there’s a difference in SAFL to AFL but recruits from there had a season for premiership points and Mc Creery was prominent both thru
home and away as well as the finals over there

That aside as someone pointed out so many untried recruits which are there to be turned into hopefully 200 gamers —not all will but talent is there

If we're including second year players definitely Ruscoe. Just put him in and leave him in. I reckon he's got the goods.

It’s all speculation I think but my hope is the two pre season hit outs they give as many as is possible chances for the kids

I agree. He was also a bottom ager in his draft year who didn’t play footy in 2020. I would be shocked if he plays round one.

If Atu was given a chance, then they will give McCreery every chance if he puts in a solid preseason. Stay at home small forward is a position we are desperate to lock down.
Bianco has the skill and all the tools ( just not height ) He won’t be far away either.
MacRae will be alright but all the first year Vic kids will need some time to settle in after missing a year of footy.
Henry ( first pick ) has the X factor and versatility but is a bit slight and was inconsistent as a junior. Reckon he might have a developmental year in the twos in 2021.
I’m quite pumped about 2021. It’s the changing of the guard we had to have.

Two of our cruming forwards from GF year were way below par in season 19 & 20. I mean Jayden Stephenson and Josh Thomas plus neither were defensive forwards

If Mc Creery was number one SAFL tackler in forward 50 maybe it would be a good thing for us
