The AFL has detailed a full 23 rounds of match-ups, but limited dates, times and broadcast details to the opening six rounds in a flexible response to the ongoing threat of COVID-19 interruptions.

Round 10: Port Adelaide, MCG (Home)
Round 11: Geelong, MCG (Home)

Round 16: St Kilda, MCG (Home)
Round 17: Richmond, MCG (Away)
Round 18: Carlton, MCG (Home)
Round 19: Port Adelaide, Adelaide Oval (Away)
Round 20: West Coast, MCG (Home)
Round 21: Hawthorn, MCG (Away)
Round 22: Brisbane, Marvel Stadium (Home)
Round 23: Essendon, MCG (Away)

Play Twice:
Carlton
Lions
Essendon
Port
WCE

Interstaters:
Lions
WCE
Swans
Crows
Port
(Avoid Freo, GWS and Suns trips)
(One trip outside Vic after the bye in round 14, thats good)

I noticed the Bombers are playing the Cats in Geelong, thats interesting.

Four of the five clubs we play twice are close in the head-to-head numbers. I'll be hoping to jump these teams in '21 or '22. So they'll all be big matches for me.

A couple tough interstate trips, with all but one in the first half of the year.

ANZAC Day is a home game. Yes! That membership is paying off already

And last four games in Victoria. Great.

At a rough glance this draw looks fine for us. No excuses due to the draw being unfavourable. But, unfortunately at this stage it does not appear that our team list has improved which spells trouble for our finals hopes. Unless a lot of unforseen players step up for us then I think the good draw is offset by our reduced playing list talent. This means stagnation which in AFL terms equates to going back a step. I see a 9th to 12th finish for us at this stage. Much can change of course, but right now I think in all seriousness that we are going to fall back in 2021.

^I think we'll get more out of Grundy, JDG & Howe next year. I also think Daicos & Quaynor will.continue to improve & hopefully some of our youngsters like Kelly & Ruscoe will step up too. I liked the look of Ruscoe this year.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think we have played the Suns the least amount of times compared to other clubs. I can't remember ever playing them twice a season yet!

^ Correct.

Two pet hates of the fixture rear their ugly head again.

1. Two home games at Marvel Stadium, though the consolation is that they're against interstate teams rather than Marvel tenants such as the Saints, Dogs or Roos.

2. Another interstate trip with the Swans. Not including this year due to exceptional circumstances, the last time we didn't play Sydney interstate for a whole calendar year was 2002. Further, we haven't hosted them in Melbourne since 2013.

Geez, at a Christmas gathering the other day, I was told we have the hardest draw and that I must be really annoyed. (Essendon supporters).

I think our draw is pretty good.

The classic "Western Bulldogs, Brisbane, West Coast and Essendon in the first 6 rounds" and "then Port and Geelong before the bye".

My response is always the same. Do we expect to play Coburg? Or Ballarat? Or Vermont? Yes we have to play every AFL team. Wow. Rolling Eyes

20 minutes later the Geelong people turned it into how it's unfair we have an easy draw again. I swear I get ganged up on every year. And it's always some argument that just suits their hate for Collingwood. Oh well. Laughing

Fox Sports rated us the hardest draw in the comp I think, it's hard to see how?

At the end of the day, if you can't beat the likes of West Coast and Brisbane in Melbourne then you're not winning a flag anyway so who's cares?
