Why do people keep suggesting Hodge when they know damn well he is never coming to Collingwood?

Yeah...whatever...It is up to our selection committee (not sure who exactly this is) to decide who our next coach should be. There is alot of talent out there..and I think we are quite capable of selecting the coach we need.
After bux's review in 2017 we recruited assistant coaches like Justin Longmuir , who almost got us a flag. Clearly, we have the ability to select great coaching staff. Just need to do it again

This won’t get much “air time” but will Robert Harvey last if Buckley goes?

This will be his tenth year.
He certainly has the experience on game day.

Well he is one to consider until we get to hear of others available for the huge honour of coaching Collingwood.

I reckon Sam Mitchell is way ahead of Luke Hodge. Assistant experience at 2 clubs. Hawks might not let him leave their nest and activate a succession plan this season ....especially if the team stagnates further.

Unfortunately for him you might be right. The situation for Harvey is the current midfielders, not including the first year draftees are constantly defending the centre bounces due to Grundys limited certainties. You would think the throwing of the ball in the middle would of help here but until he directs some footy at our midfielders Harvey might be a victim. This is one example of change that has to be addressed.

I really hope the next coach picks himself mainly due to his potential and experience and his own hard feelings towards “the honour” of coaching Collingwood. We’re buggered if this is a pre request due any appointment. Leave that stuff to the house.

Ok, so the next time any coach says that it’s an honour to coach his team, he is obviously bullshitting 🤔😳🙄

Just stating when choosing our next coach we need to keep emotions out of it.

I mean I'm purely speculating here but imo GW is only coming to the Pies because the winds of change have finally arrived and there will most likely be a changing of the guard coming up in more key club positions other than just the president.

Again - this is just my opinion.

Same as when a well known politician, puts his arm around a sitting Prime Minister, and says " he has my full support" and two days later, knifes him in the back politically. Coaches are either sacked, or quit, not many go out willingly, its always messy business, but that footy, always been that way. Surprised
