Yep. As good as he has been in some games it's time to see some season-long consistency from him.

That sort of money should be for blokes who are pushing for All Austalian selection and are top 5 in the Copeland. I think he is certainly capable of that if he has the right level of commitment and has a good run without injury.

Absolutely our number 1 best player. A game breaking untouchable. But for christ sakes he needs a shirt load of guideway.

It’s good that we’ve resigned him and Mihocek as well.I was starting to wonder if we had enough players left to field a side next year.

800k seems about right all things considered. At his best is in the conversation for most damaging player. Consistency is key from here.

Nobody would have a clue of the actual amount, they wouldn't have a clue of other details.

The supposed $800,000, does it include :

Match payments or less if he is dropped. Or less % of match payments if injured.

Bonus payments.. this we know is no longer in addition. i.e finals

cpi or fixed?

etc

After what we have been through , and the corps is still warm, some silly headline is alluding to overpayment. And some people follow that logic because the club is grossly incompetent and going through catastrophic times lol.

For arguments sake, clubs must payout 95% of the cap. Apart from folklore, and soap box statements, what would a 'normal' 'better run' club pay him?

$650,000.? Whatever that amount is, that is what he is on.

What do people think if the duration?
I'm not sure such a short contract is a good or bad thing. It might keep the pressure on to perform but then if he stays clean and reliable I'll be devastated if he jumps ship.

^If he performs and is worth more to others then we get compensated.
If we signed him for four years say and he dudded it up and didn't mature, then the two years plus compensation would have been a better bet.
I'm happy with the two years.

Darcy Moore has shown a more mature attitude without off field controversy and more commitment to the cause. His longer contract sits fine with me.

Grundy 7 years? Too long. Does his partner play netball by any chance?

Greenwood and Tohill signed (I assume 1 and 2 years respectively).

Comment on Facebook: thank god we got rid of Treloar and Stephenson so we have enough cap space for Greenwood and Tohill!

Good news, he must really step up too the plate now, no more mucking around. We are now a very young side, with 13 depatures, so he really needs to lift and be an example too all our kids, who will now come into the team.

you're probably all correct - a short contract may be a good idea for degoey and the next couple of years should be his prime.

Next year can't come soon enough Smile

ok, so i have a home near Moggs Creek where the Dangerfield's hail from and it is more than just legend that whenever a pack of sharks turn up (which happens fairly often), Paddy is straight onto the paddleboard to go out to be among them and a "rastle" with them. Unclear whether he spearfishes or uses a reel, but either way, its pretty ballsy.

If he can do that, why cant Jordan play with his dog????
