I notice Trent Bianco is listed as 188cm on the Collingwood app. When he was recruited he was 178cm.
Has he grown that much or is it a typo?? _________________ "You must be a parking ticket, cuz you got fine written all over you" Glen Quagmire |

I don’t categorically know but he was always short, so the 178 would be right at the time he was drafted. He’s missed a bit of footy, so no one has really seen him on the park either. He always had a solid physic, so I would be fairly confident 188 is a typo. It’s usually the skinny kids who get the quick growth spurts.
Be great if it isn’t a typo and I guess we will all see for ourselves when he comes back shortly. |

Change our game style - the coach is relatively irrelevant. Look at the Tigers - Hardwicke was gone in 2016, they finished 13th, the playing group was demoralised and were in a rut, then things changed via introduction of new assistant coaches and strategists with innovative thinking and they changed their game style. Overall, pound for pound, the Tigers are not that great but as a team playing as one to their style they are direct, confident and take the game on, they play an awesome irrepressible brand of footy. They propel the ball forward at all costs and back it up with fierce run and pressure on and off the ball. They support each other and tackle like they’re possessed and look to better each other in a selfless manner. It’s not rocket science and relatively simple but they have 100% buy in from everyone from the CEO to the boot cleaner, there’s hardly any BS off the ground or behind the scenes and if it does occur it is quickly dealt with and buried before it festers and derails their season. Hardwicke was still coaching the same way he was when they were ninthmond but the system changed around him and 3 flags later everyone is still scratching their heads how.
We had it for a brief moment in 2018 but the off-field BS crept in again (racism, sexual assault allegations, salary cap mismanagement, team disharmony) and we lost it. The coach is important, but he’s only one part to what is a multifaceted machine. |
Plus one - good post.
The draft system also makes a teams form cyclic. Getting good players peaking at the same time , weathering an inevitable hit in form when draft opportunities aren't there. The coach is a victim of circumstance as much as anyone. Drop in a new coach while conditions are on a downward trajectory and you will only prolong the time you spend at the bottom of the ladder. Bucks got us within a kick of a premiership - he can coach. Boards and supporters that lack a spine will only see us in a position like carlton has enjoyed for the last dozen years. _________________ We shall set our course by the stars and not ships that pass in the night |

Yeah, she'd be awesome in our forward line
Averages 1 mark and 5 possessions a game.
With those numbers she would be a certainty to be selected for each game. |
