The new mask rules are a bit confusing. Clearly I have to wear it in Bunnings or a supermarket or shopping centre, I'm not sure about small shops.

Went into a Salvos Op shop this morning, there was a handful of people in there, one of the staff called out to us all that we didn't have to wear a mask in the shop, just socially distant.

I said, "Thanks, It's just easier to remember to put it one when I go into a shop" and left it on.

No one was wearing them at the Tyre shop yesterday, Thomastown market on Sunday was a real mixed bag about 70% wearing them but no clear demographic in the 30% not, but at the Kingsbury market they still had signs up saying everyone wear a mask and everyone was.

Now that international arrivals are happening and we're doing Hotel Quarantine again, I really hope I'm wrong but I think another outbreak here is inevitable.

It’s very simple, don’t wear one, who cares? Actually I’m pretty sure it’s just shopping centres, supermarkets and large retail outlets. Any small business is mask free, good excuse to support small businesses over larger retailers.

Was at a a meeting tonight, under the government’s rules were pretty sure masks weren’t required, yet hadn’t had any update from the organisation. One person entered with one but no one else did and eventually they realised no one else is bothering so took it off. Was good to feel normal, was our first meeting since February.

^^ Agree. Small retail doesn't require mask, big does. I'd say it has to do with the air-conditioning circulating the same air, and lack of numbers control with the bigger centres. Always shop local when you can.

Thing is, small business can still require a mask or no entry no service. If you want to put on a show they're within their rights to point you to a place the other side of Kew.

Of course they can require masks but it's their choice.

Any moment, now, we’ll have 16 million cases on our hands and a president who couldn’t care less.

5 cases?

My beloved father in law is about to cark it, hopefully, he’s not living, and at least half the family finally accept it, but it’s not fun, and I just had a massive bargy with my youngest sister, told her to **** of out of my house, ah yes Christmas, I think we should go back to strict lock down for a week or 2, get rid of those cases! Well after we gave a party for the family I’d choose if I could! Friends I mean! Oh the $£$%^%%$ joys. After the year we have just had gave we learnt a $£$%^%%$ thing?

^ Those cases are in the quarantine hotels, so (at least in theory) contained – nothing to worry about at the moment in terms of community spread, and no need to even contemplate a reintroduction of restrictions.

Whilst it’s sad to not really have any big family Christmas anymore, I don’t miss the fights!

I don’t think my mums family have even gotten together at all since her mum passed away. Whilst Dad was an only child so that side of the family is easy and now Nan is too frail to bring down, Christmas will be very quiet

Off topic, but does anyone have experience moving older people into nursing homes who refuse to go?

How to do it? She lied through her teeth for her last assessment and said she’ll fight any attempt to do it. Refuses to ever see a doctor, current plan is to tell her they need to do a review of her current supports to have a new assessment and go from there.
