Who's into V8 Supercars ?

The top 10 shootout is scheduled for 5 pm., today.

It's truly incredible how the senior, experienced drivers handle these rockets (up to 300 kph.), often with another car less than a few feet ahead or behind - but there's an 18 y.o. driver, who'll be mixing it with them, on Sunday.

At 18, I was still learning how to change gears. Very Happy

"Provisional Bathurst 1000 pole sitter Lee Holdsworth has warmed up for the top-10 shootout with another speedy practice session.

The Ford veteran dominated Supercars qualifying on Friday to give himself the best chance of securing a maiden Mt Panorama pole.

In the final practice before Saturday's shootout, Holdsworth took the reins of his Mustang for most of the session after co-driver Michael Caruso had a go earlier on"

"Cameron Waters has claimed pole position for the 2020 Bathurst 1000 after notching the fastest-ever lap in Bathurst Shootout history.

His Tickford Racing No. 6 Ford Mustang GT lapped Mount Panorama in a stellar 2:03.559, almost half a second ahead of reigning Bathurst champion Scott McLaughlin in second.

And while all the talk in the lead-up to the action had centred on the possibility of wild weather wreaking havoc in the shootout, the rain mostly stayed away as Waters stormed around the track.

Waters told Fox Sports: “I absolutely gave it everything. I knew there was something special in the car, I just had to put it all together.”

His co-driver Will Davison described it as an “bloody mega” lap"
