The 53 & 58 were my first two flags and them days no bookings
We lined up at 6am on the day of finals to wait for the ticket box,s to open at 10 am then once in a mad dash to a fence seat and all our decorations for the fence
And all the people who stood week in and week out in front of Ryder stand were always close at finals
How crazy were we in our youth—we were a ten minute walk from Vic Park and one game in the 50,s we got soaked with heavy down pour and went home at half time ,changed into dry clothes and got back early in 3rd qtr to see us win
Ahhhhh our salad days

I was in the southern stand in the second last row. But my best memories are later on at Victoria Park going crazy😝 I remember the players coming back and being on stage. I was lucky enough to be near the front and I hugged Pants, Daics and a few others. My memories of later that night and htf I got home escaped me then and I still have nfi 😁 I know the band played “Simply the best” repeated and some brave/pissed fans were climbing the goal posts🤓. The next day I ignored a massive hangover and made to the celebrations at Goschs paddock and caught up with a fabulous magpie supporter named Magpie Greg who used to post here. He is a totally decent guy who shared my twin passions of Collingwood and the Beatles. (Where are you Magpie Greg? Love to catch up.) What an awesome weekend that was.🤣🤣🍾🥂🥃

Can’t recall which final / year but my sis and I were at the final when the wrought iron fence collapsed and we sat on the boundary with feet across
the white line
Near us a player got pushed by an opponent into the “squatters “ A newspaper had a foto of it

Yep nice memory 1990 i was 13 years old just too so it was a great introduction to my teen age years and my first real time i drank a beer and my first hang over even though i was under 18.
1990 stands out for me as the most famous of all premierships ever won. But i dont like it when that 1989 gf always seams to over shadow 1990.
1990 was great.
But was way to premature with Lou richards buring the Colliwobbles. Just thought we could have waited a few more years or even 10 years for that.
Since 1990 we have won only 1 flag 2010. And 4 runner ups 2002,2003,2011 and 2018 in GF.So colliwobbles not sure if its done and dusted as yet.
1990 was what Collingwood was intended for tough and ruthless ala 1920's 1930's.

1990 was a great victory that broke a premiership drought that was littered with heartbreaking Grandfinal losses which inspired the "Collywobbles" legend. I think that's why the 1990 premiership was such a huge win as it was a first win that I'd experienced as a Collingwood supporter.
Still a pretty poor conversion rate by Collingwood in Grandfinals for my lifetime with defeats & draws totaling 13 vs just two Premierships = 13% success.
But I'm always optimistic that this year will be the one!!
Never surrender, never give in and always hate Carlton!

Any reunions planned for both the 30 year of 1990 and 10 years for 2010 it will be interesting to see what the 1990 team are up to these days.

Collingwood became officially premiers at 430pm and I think daylight saving had just started too.

Greatest day (and personal long weekend) ever!!!! I was 27 when we won, so in my prime to celebrate to the max after experiencing the pain of 81, 80, 79, 77 and 70. After all those losses, I never thought I'd ever see one, so to see us dominate through Sept and Oct 90 was just amazing and to see Daics, Shawry and Banksy up on the stage getting a medal just awesome. Was a social club member in 1990 so went back to Vic Park in the social club and out on the ground all night til about 3am - got home about 4am and in my p!ssed state rang my old man who lived in Qld then and woke him up and thanked him for making us Pies fans. Put on the VCR replay and fell asleep in the bean bag after quarter time!. Back again to Vic Park on Sunday from lunchtime til evening (Pants bought the Cup into the Captains Bar and got to hold it briefly), back again Monday from lunch til evening for more beers. Mate got a tatt Monday night, but I decided against it. Had Tuesday off as an alcohol free recovery day and back to work on Wednesday to see my Ess supporting boss! Greatest feeling ever.
