Retired, Delisted and Traded out:

1. Lynden Dunn
2. Ben Reid
3. Travis Varcoe
4. Matt Scharenberg
5. Tim Broomhead
6.
7.
8.
9.
10.
11.
12.
13.

Yes, I think this is the amount that should and shall happen given the need to clean out and list sizes reductions.

I had the following, so 5 is a start.

De-list: D.Beams, T.Langdon L.Dunn, B.Reid, T.Varcoe, T.Broomhead, M.Scharenberg, T.Lynch, A. Tohill, M.Keane (release $1.5-$2m)

Trade: W.Hoskin-Elliott, T.Phillips, B.Sier, C.Mayne, J.Thomas (release $1.5m)

Must be a nervous queue outside Buck's hotel room. Next...

A rough guess at the five —

What would their collective wage release.

And would that money pay a years salary for a Jeremy Cameron or a Ben Brown if they in fact we went for ?????????

Tim Shaw works in radio here in Canberra, or at least last I heard.

He works for the Press Club now.

Tom Philips just been told in exit meeting: "we like you and you're welcome to stay but if you want to pursue another club, that may be advisable for you long term".

Deciphered means: you cannot kick, we have replaced you on the wing with Daicos but if a trade falls flat, we have to stump up the last year of your fat contract.

The contracted list cloggers whose 2021 upside is more likely to be a downside include:

* Thomas: fallen off the proverbial cliff for two years
* Phillips: wage exceeds output
* Mayne: love him but wife wants to go home to WA
* Mason: $500,000/year exceeds 1-2 cameos and as Bux said in his presser "cumbersome forwards aren't in our plans".

The combined approximate earnings here would be $1,700,000 conservatively speaking and only serves to highlight our bulging middle class attitude to re-contracting C grade players.

The club's return if off-loaded/traded would be:

Thomas: pick 60+ and a pure salary dump
Phillips: pick 30-40 range as a standalone or a 10-15 position upgrade in draft
Mayne: no currency as you'd think retirement/assistant coaching at Freo may be the aim
Mason: pick between 30-50 given high salary

Simply need to consider these options.

Didn't Gold coast have interest in the Qlder at the end of 2018? might be worth more than pick 60 is all I'm saying.

If you get past the trashing we received off Geelong, I thought Thomas played his guts out. Not easy in a forward line deprived of the ball. That should be enough for him to see his contract out next year. I'd keep him for 2021.

Actually, I thought Thomas was one of our best players (not saying much) in our submission to the Cats.
