Pointless thread. Can we at least add a 'maybe' button?

There's no way a player like Phillips can be written off. Among our highest possession winners most weeks, and with huge endurance. Easily an 'above average' player across the entire competition.

Is he immune from being dropped? No, he has some obvious flaws. But someone would need to be pushing for selection in his position for that to happen. It seems Crocker has been playing wing in VFL and doing well. But given his fairly ordinary performances at AFL level, Crocker would need some ridiculously strong performances in the two's to push out Phillips after 29 touches and 2 goals.

There is no one who gets back to add support more than Phillips.
The problem is he doesn’t always execute well in that role with ball in hand.
If you replace him, our back six will be under more pressure without him being there as often as an extra in defence.
You take the good with the bad. That’s why he was a late pick in the draft.
For mine, he’s still more yes than no.

Phillips' disposal can be iffy, but it's a yes for me.

Cops way too much flak for my liking.

If this poll had been posted last week, I could understand it. This week? It's a Yes, no question

he was terrific tonight and ahead of many others.

Stevo is really going through second year blues dont you think.

DeGoey seems like he cant take set shots. On the left side he always screws it around his boady and on the right side, he always misses. I wonder if thi is a problem.

We had the yips tonight. Missed a lot of gettable ones again!

Dogs are getting better. Quite a few talented young kids.

There was a graphic in the pre-game channel 7 coverage comparing his 2018 stats with 2019 YTD... they were pretty even. Post-game they're even better obviously. Main difference in the first few rounds was being played further up the field

I will leave it to the section mob who have played about 1000 more games than me or the OP.

Hijaking this as the the Tom Phillips appreciation thread.

How good was his courage at the end of the first qtr. stopped their quick transfer of play and Essendon ended up coming back and switching to the other side of the ground.
