But have you watched his year? (I haven't, so I can't judge.) |

And the Leigh Matthews MVP goes to Neale. He's cleaned up this year. Will he win the Brownlow too?

TBH, I would have thought a player in his 30's putting up numbers like that and being voted the best captain in the AFL would have found a spot in the final AA team. _________________ A Goal Saved Is 2 Goals Earned! |

Congratulations to both players.
It’s a great effort, particularly from Adams who also finished fifth in the Coaches award.
I have never quite understood all the over the top criticism directed at Adams.
Hopefully some posters will now see that you can’t be doing too much wrong over the course of an entire season when you’re good enough to make both the all Australian team and finish fifth in the coaches award.
Hopefully some people should now better understand that what happens in a micro moment of a game is clearly not a reflection of his total contributions over the season. |

^ He should have. He remains Collingwood's best player by the length of the Flemington straight. |

Big congratulations to Taylor and Darcy. So very well deserved.
As Pies 2016 points out above, the criticism of Adams has been quite unwarranted in my book. Sure, he had poor foot disposal there for a while, but he's improved that enormously, no doubt by putting his heart and soul into fixing it, just like he gives 110% on the ground for his team every game.
Darcy's development this year has been phenomenal. It's quite incredible to think many of us thought he may never break through to a permanent place in the team, because of his soft tissue woes. How many times did we see him limp off through the course of a game?
I recall him saying that he formulated a program to address his issues, with the help of experts outside the club!!!
Didn't much like the selection of Gawn. Don't think he had such a stellar season at all. His spot should have gone to Pendles or Maynard |

Adams gives 110% every game. That isn’t the problem. The problem is that he does it on (maybe?) 75% of the talent of the genuinely great players. We would (or should) trade him away in a heartbeat for any of Dangerfield, Cotchin, Martin, Bont, Cripps, Shiel, Kelly (GWS), Kelly (WC), Neale, Maccrae, Lloyd, Gaff, Petracca, Boak, Fyfe etc. He has done his very best and got quite a lot of the ball but he’s not in the first 20 midfielders you’d pick, if you had the choice. Credit to him that he’s in the AA team against a whole bunch of players that are better than him but it’s like Licuria being our best mid two years in a row. You love their effort and commitment but they’re actually not too useful. |

Well done to Taylor and Darcy!
Adams is surely the future captain -in 3 years when Pendles hands it over
It goes to show what Moore can do when he is injury free. Such a valuable player! |

I counter this statement with the fact that Adams came fifth in the AFL Coaches Association Champion Player of the Year award, ahead of many of the players you mention above, including Fyfe, Danger, Dusty. I reckon the coaches would know which players are "useful" to the team more so than you or I |
