Very good to hear from leon's perspective. Seems such an impressive guy who did his bit to educate and have people learn. Must be bloody tiresome and frustrating constantly having to deal with ingrained prejudice.
interesting to read this:
'Davis said most of the instances of racism he experienced inside Collingwood were unconscious.
When it went beyond that, the club acted. If they had not Davis says he would not have stayed there as long as he did.'
The club's not perfect, yet seems they have and are trying to do the right thing and create an environment where the next Leon won't have to have worry about doing the educating, as all will be educated. |

I don’t know, but from what he has said the environment
didn’t seem to be any different/worse to any other sporting club.
Education re: racism will always be needed because it will never
go away.
I’m glad he is happy with he’s decision to stay at the club as
long as he did. |
