Finals. Knowing us we’ll smash port. Then we’ll do nothing in finals. _________________ The match day thread is for unfiltered BS knee jerk reactions. The time for level headed comment comes after. |

Finals secured 😎
JDG is invaluable. Club needs to re-sign him ASAP.
Cox's goal in the last quarter was the highlight of the night. I want to see it again. _________________ | 1902 | 1903 | 1910 | 1917 | 1919 | 1927 | 1928 | 1929 | 1930 | 1935 | 1936 | 1953 | 1958 | 1990 | 2010 | 2023 | |

Piss off all Cox haters.... he is valuable.
He can be a game changer or an impact player.
He has his faults but playing forward is a hard gig.

The importance of a key forward was never more evident than tonight.
A tough fought win although there is still a lot of improvement needed from the team.
Look forward to next week against Port. _________________ - Side By Side - |

Did’t you say after 30 seconds of the first quarter something like: “ WTF Buckley, you don’t know what you’re doing and the players don’t” or something similar?
What are your motives for posting such negative shite? _________________ “I even went as far as becoming a Southern Baptist until I realised they didn’t keep ‘em under long enough” Kinky Friedman

OK it wasnt great, but we got the job done, we will play Finals, we did that now. Thank heavens for De Goey and Cox, and Crisp. We had guys down tonight, maybe the Bye wasnt so good for us, who knows ? GC arent all that bad, thanks to the League, they have a darn good list, they have not been easybeats for most of this season. Take the four points and run, now the build up for our biggest game of the season, im glad Port will start favourites, thats far better for us. Anyway, a win is a win. Take it. _________________ Poverty exists not because we cannot feed the poor, but because we cannot satisfy the rich.

What a game of footy honestly. Had my doubts early in the match but we were far more composed than the Suns.
Most of our goals came from turnovers which some were easily gifted btw. De Goey is remarkable, can mark, take the game on and score (what we've needed!!). Cox played his best game of 2020 by far, played with such confidence and his strut after goals is amazing
Umpires for both teams absolutely terrible, both caught the wrong end of the stick.
WHE played his best game of 2020 also, left it all out there as he needed to. Crisp as always played terrific off halfback. IQ, Magden and Moore the usual suspects all performing well. Maynard cost us a couple but worked hard to earn them back. Pendles after a disposal-less quarter played very well throughout the midfield.
Only negatives from the game, Treloar had so much of the ball but his impact was a little lacking considering he had 25+ touches. The dinky kicks backwards when going forward (which allowed GC to flood back and intercept most marks)
Aside from that, great win and hard fought. Bring on the Power _________________ Smoking shadows behind the mirrors - Travis Cloke |

Very good outcome. It looked slippery. Our pressure in the second half was terrific: we cared.
I’d bring in either Stevo or Trey next week. _________________ “I even went as far as becoming a Southern Baptist until I realised they didn’t keep ‘em under long enough” Kinky Friedman |

I don't like Bux much.
i would replace him if I was the Prez.
BUT... 3 years in row of getting into the finals is a great effort.
Well done Bux from a disgruntled supporter. |

You take out Treloar, our midfield got smashed. That’s the worry. We desperately need to get Sidey back. Our forward line will better once Mihocek shakes off the concussion and Stevo returns to the side. Greenwood and Varcoe shouldn’t be out there and Callum Brown just needs to find form again. Our backline is the one saving grace. We still miss Howe but we have the cover to cope without him. |
