It's not actually interesting in any way. Scumbag dorkheads are scumbag dorkheads in any context and any shite that happens to them as a consequence is fine by me.

Re Harry. Pre-emptive? In your dreams sunshine. That particular turkey has form. There is nothing remotely pre-emptive about calling out a serial attention-seeker; it's just saying what is (and indeed has been for years). Nothing to see here, move along please.

That kind of homo erotic locker room stuff is more associated with Rugby Union than Aussie rules. If you'd tried that in any of the teams I played for you'd wake up on the floor with a broken nose.

Interesting that it was 2 senior white players picking on the more junior black guy. Just wait til the US media gets hold of that, I'm sure Harry O will be happy to provide a comment, Shae Mac already has

this,

just grow up guys. and at least if you are gunna do it, pick on someone your own status. not a kid.

oh and thank god it wasnt us!

Ironically, I think there can be a bit of an equalising/dehierarchising function in stuff like this – it’s kind of a way of acknowledging that someone is accepted and part of a group, perhaps not unlike hazing – although it can also be a form of bullying if it gets out of hand. Not defending it in any way, shape or form (it makes me roll my eyes too), but I think it’s at least anthropologically interesting.

they know the locker room song is televised, its not a good look, and especially for any vulnerable junior footy player out there. sporting clubs have a pretty bad record for grooming kids!

they are pro footballers, act professional while you are at work. notice i said while you are at work.

Indeed, H didn't mind attention when he was in his early 20's and bragging about all the white women queued up for BBC rides.

"I felt very uncomfortable watching it – I didn't see at the time, but watching it since – for Mabior Chol. He could be well within his rights to knock Nick Vlaustin out, there and then, with what he did in that song.

"Imagine doing that on Tony Lockett after a game… he'd throw him into a brick wall.

"Richmond are a great football club but they'd be highly embarrassed because that was repulsive and an invasion on Mabior Chol, what went on."

Lockett wouldn't have thrown you into a brick wall, he would have done it so hard your atoms would have merged with those of the wall on a sub atomic level, you would be one with the wall until the end of time.

Or until they tore the wall down.

Maybe more prevalent in rugby but certainly rife in aussie rules, too. Just ask Dal Santo & Nick Riewoldt.

Seems to be an anglo cultural thing.

I'd forgotten about Dal Santo, Revolt and the St Kilda Schoolgirl. Thanks for bringing that image back.

I still reckon it's Anglo as in English Boarding school stuff.

Quite possibly the most ridiculous thing the AFL have ever commented on. I thought it to be farce but then I remembered how the world works, atm, and my despair returned.
