Hope it's dry so Cox can come back and kick a bag. He looked pissed off about not being part of last night's win. Hopefully he can channel that into finding some form. _________________ The beatings will continue until moral improves. |

Seems that main thing missing this year has been one good KPF. Miho is good but needs support. I think maybe the main reason our scoring tends to dry up. Cox still a poor mark most weeks, still usually goes up one handed??, maybe he'll improve by next year but mostly just creates 50/50 ground balls at this stage (which is useful in a lukewarm sort of way), but prob that will have to be the structure now that DeG also is gone for a few weeks.
Also ghost player Reid clearly can't be relied on to get on the park or is he delisted? and the new guy kelly showed a bit of potential but immediatley season ended.
Not sure what other prospects we have on the list but if can field another KPD could try Moore forward again.
Just looked at injury report, Reid listed as "active"?? theyre not even giving any weeks out estimates anymore it seems. Jsut active/inactive/post-surgery.

Noble out? A bit tough on Noble who I thought he played his best game this year for the Pies. _________________ “I even went as far as becoming a Southern Baptist until I realised they didn’t keep ‘em under long enough” Kinky Friedman |

I agree - was impressed by his skill and agility and also decision-making in heavy traffic. |

Out: De Goey, Noble, Wills
In : Cox, Scharenberg, Sier
De Goey injured and Cox gives us a 'point-of-difference' inside 50 and legitimate support for Grundy.
Scharenberg is a better defender than Noble; although his pace is suspect, his body is less likely to be pushed aside in marking contests.
Sier's preparedness to kick as first option will give us drive around the ground. Wills' unwillingness to go forward by foot is pretty predictable and he is not a player to be used as ruck back-up for the imperious Grundy. _________________ Firm in the belief that number 17 flag is only months away... |

If the forecast is for dry weather, I’d expect Cox to come back in. Something that Nathan said: “horses for courses”. He clearly sees Cox at this stage as just a dry deck guy. I’d love to get Scharenberg back in, but it’s a tough team to break into at the moment. _________________ I, for one, welcome our new black and white overlords |

Agree with almost ll of that Lad. Sier's ability to open up the game though his quick kicking out of ruck situations is something you look forward to when he is playing! Wills is not so aware and takes less chances and as you say is more predictable. I love Will's hardness at contests though and wonder if the club is satisfied with Seir fitness or wondering what is keeping him out of the side. I feel that if Sier was fitter in 2018 GF we might not have been a man down in the second half. Hopefully he's built on it from then, good reports are coming in from the VFL side about his recent games. Along with Adams we need another hard nut around contests so I would keep Wills in, just fo that! Being fully aware that Seir needs to play if we want him at the club. |

Agree totally. Sier also is a more dangerous handballer as he puts teammates out in space and out of congestion. |

Firstly, it is totally unfair on Grundy to leave him rucking for an entire game.
He needs a relief ruckman to assist, and that can't be Roughead this week as we'll need him with Moore to man those two Kennedy and Darling.
I don't know if WCE will play a 2nd ruck to relieve NicNat; not our problem.
So Cox in for injured JDG, even if that leaves us a midfielder short.
No other player deserves to concede their spot in the team this week.
Sier will have to wait his turn; I simply can't tolerate him blowing and puffing like a bag of shit from lack of fitness against these Weasels.
And the 2018GF still flames me no end.
This is not the week to return him to the fold; it must be against a team lower on the ladder in August, when we can ease him back into the rotations with minimal consequence if he is struggling with conditioning.
See what the maggot umpires can come up with this week to please themselves; should be another close contest either way. _________________ M I L L A N E 4 2 forever |
