^ This polarising of the discussion is nonsense. Since the start of 2018, Daniher has played 7 games, 4 games and 2 games. One does not need to be a rocket scientist to say that a player who plays fewer games over the last 3 seasons than Ben Reid has played for Collingwood is a potential injury basketcase. Everyone knows Daniher can play footy when he can stand unassisted - but he hasn't played a full-ish season since he was 23.
PnC's primary example is the best case in point. The Anzac Day game last year was the only occasion in three seasons that Daniher has kicked 4 goals. In total, he has kicked 18 goals across those 3 seasons. In the same time, despite what we all know have always been end-of-career injuries, Reid has kicked 22.
Recruiting Daniher would be a huge risk. Given the cost, it makes virtually no sense at all. If he could get on the park consistently, he would be absolutely untouchable at Essendon. |

It's a good point. Imagine the negativity if Reid played for another team and the suggestion came up that we recruit him |

To be fair, it was only his second game back, after a long, lay off, see how he goes the next three games, then judge him, hey. _________________ Poverty exists not because we cannot feed the poor, but because we cannot satisfy the rich.

Let's see if Daniher manages to play three more games, first - see my post above as to his complete failure to get himself ready to perform physically for the third season in a row. The last time he managed a 5-game run was 5 May 2018. He's played a total of 6 games in 28 months, since then. |

Just a little update on Daniher - today, he has had 4 kicks and 2 handballs and kicked zero goals and nil behinds against Port and, thanks to his splendid goal assist, Essendon has 22 points on the board with about two-thirds of the last quarter still to play.. We should, I think, move heaven and earth to bring him into our forward set up. He'd be perfect for our low forward-possession, low-score style of play.
He might get a few more touches today - but then, he's been benched, so he may struggle. |

Is there a good tall forward in the draft this year? We've got an option (unless I'm mistaken) of trading up the draft this year by packaging next years first round pick and this years. If we don't trade next years pick, we'll lose it on Nick Daicos by the look of it. This years pick 19 plus next years first round pick could possibly get us pick 10 or 12 - is there a Ben King or a Jack Rievoldt about there?
Better option than Daniher (not going to get him anyway) or selling the farm for JC, and we could get Ben Brown too, as insurance.

Ben Brown told to look for a new home
https://www.theage.com.au/sport/afl/ben-brown-told-to-look-for-a-new-home-20200923-p55yj7.html
"Sources close to Brown's negotiations with North Melbourne have told The Age he was offered a three-year contract at the start of 2020 worth upwards of $750,000 per season.
Brown and his management rejected that offer, wanting a longer-term deal.
North Melbourne are no longer willing to renegotiate and have advised Brown and his management to look elsewhere.
...
Brown's manager, former Essendon premiership player Adam Ramanauskas, has reached out to Hawthorn, Collingwood and Gold Coast.
Hawthorn confirmed to The Age that they're not interested.
Collingwood's salary cap remains reasonably tight and the Magpies are concentrating on re-signing All-Australian squad member Darcy Moore and star mid/forward Jordan De Goey." |

Prefer to go to the draft.
North are a bottom team..... they want to rebuild and get good draft picks in return
Collingwood are suckers at this game.
If we get him for pick 65 then yes otherwise no |

Good to hear. Both are better than Brown and should be prioritised over him and anyone else. _________________ The beatings will continue until moral improves. |

Agreed. If heās fit get him if heās not too expensive. Get the medicos who checked out Stevie Johnson to provide their opinion. If they say heās good to play donāt pick him, if they say heās done then pick him. IF we can get Ben Brown at a reasonable price, i say do it. Look, ok he had a lousy year, as did North, but two yrs ago, at Docklands, i saw him tear us apart, as did his team, i thiink he booted 5 goals that night. He can mark and kick long, and pray tell, who, like who, do we have on our current impotent forward line, not worth a tinkers cuss at present, who can do that ? Nobody, yes, correct, Brown can do it, and a new club may be just what he needs, to freshen up, get away from the deadweight of North, he could thrive with us. I say, get him. _________________ Poverty exists not because we cannot feed the poor, but because we cannot satisfy the rich.
