Have 4 father/son selections ever played in one team at the same time before. Or are we going to witness history tonight? It must be close to a record for sure i'd say. _________________ Ohhh, the Premiership's a cakewalk ....... |

It’s a good return, considering we received a “ discount “ for every one of them. Geelong went through those halcyon days around 10 years ago when their father sons were a major part of their continued success.
Ablett, Hawkins, Scarlett and Woolnough. Woolnough didn’t play many games at all because of his knees but he may have played enough to also get them across the line with four in one team.
If someone can be bothered checking ? |

There were 2 Abletts, Hawkins and Scarlett, all interbred if that counts. |

people talk about great administrations producing premierships and that might be true. But mergers (Brisbane), salary cap relief (Sydney), tanking (Hawthorn) and father/sons (Geelong) certainly appears to have helped. _________________ Ohhh, the Premiership's a cakewalk ....... |

I think we had three Clokes and two Shaws in at least one game. _________________ All watched over by machines of loving grace |

Cameron, Jason, Travis, Rhyce played R6 vs StK, 1 May 2005.
Jason, Travis, Heath, Rhyce played R20 vs Port, 18 Aug 2006.
Are those the closest?? |

If great admins are required we're screwed, but the father/son bit is helping. Moore & Daics were both good, and the Brown Bros showed a bit in their first run together. They're all young, so they'll be around when Phil Kelly makes his debut, & Nick Daicos can't be far away. That would be 6, including 5 sons of the 1990 Flag side. If we steal Brandon Starcevich that would be 7... any others? _________________ "If at first you dont succeed...

Rod Obornes son, Brad ( ? ) also played a few games around that time too.
Might have been to early for Travis I would have thought. |

I thought he was Craig's nephew, not son.

No, they never played together.
The Cloke brothers only played together once which was in round 6 2005 vs St Kilda.
Heath Shaw didn't debut until round 17 2005 vs St Kilda.
Rhyce ruptured his ACL on Queen's Birthday in 2005, and didn't return until round 9 2006 vs Western Bulldogs.
3 Clokes, 1 Shaw = Round 6 2005 vs St Kilda
2 Clokes, 2 Shaws = Round 20 2006 vs Port Adelaide
