Excellent article - great in the detail and describing how Carlton collectively crapped itself whereas Collingwood just tried to win.
I tried to pick what is different about Pendlebury and Naicos. Pendles wins by often standing still or little movements and dummying, creating space that way. Naicos creates space through hyper movement - too hard to keep still and too quick & nimble to grab once in space.
The comparison with Gary Ablett Jnr is the best one for Naicos. A lot of commentators call Naicos the little master or little maestro - sound familiar? _________________ I think therefore I think - I think |

^Yeah, loved the observations on how both sides were Daicos conscious, Carlton more focused on making sure he couldn't get it than getting it themselves and Pendles blocking for him and Harrison tapping it to him. In the absence of Jordy, both teams clearly knew there was 1 matchwinner in the midfield. _________________ Every dead body on Mt Everest was once a highly motivated person, so maybe just calm the **** down. |

Terrific article. Great to relive the moments that led to a great victory over our most hated opponent.
The article shows how the game is often decided by cm's and seconds for different player reactions and decisions. And of course having the skills to execute.
How lucky we are to have both Daicos boys and Pendlebury running around in the same team!! _________________ Collingwood Domination. Envy of the Nation! |

Yep great story for sure. This could be an award winning story. Unlike Daicos match winning goal however which for whatever inexplicable reason is not a goal of the week contender?? _________________ Premiership Pies made it legendary in 2023, don’t let them forget it. #Go PIES 2024…. |

The other aspect of the Harrison mark was when Carlton took the intercept mark inside our F50 he was only about 10m from the action he put in a 90m effort to run through the middle as Carlton moved the ball down the wing to get into position to be able to impact the contest. After all that had the presence of mind to play on immediately so we could start a raid off half back with a few Blues caught out of position. _________________ Human behavioural studies suggest people who use a lot of swear words tend to be more honest & trustworthy. |
