Suspect this is a little too obscure and maybe we extend this thread to the Michael Caine* equivalent of "Not Many People Know That", however I'll run with it anyway ~

There have been 4 years when a Collingwood player has won the ANZAC day medal, however the Club did not go onto play finals, name the player and the year (hint - there have been 4).
It'll take you a while, but I reckon you'll be able to work it out without looking. 😉

*In October 1972, the legendary comedian Peter Sellers started using this phrase in his impressions of Caine. Sellers claimed that in real life, Caine tended to show off his knowledge of trivia with that line.

Just a year later, Caine released a book titled Not Many People Know That: Michael Caine’s Almanac of Amazing Information.

^ Pretty sure we had all or most of the first four Anzac medallists, 1995–1998, all years that we missed the finals! I’ll take a stab and say Sav Rocca x2, Nathan Buckley and Stephen Patterson?

Actually wasn't the medal itself belated a few years, and we got maybe four retro awarded for that period?
Scotty Russell in 1996? [without googling...]

Yep, it was awarded for the first time in 2000 and then handed out retrospectively for the previous five years – and yeah, Collingwood players were given the first four.

I hope LH won't mind me divulging this – I looked up the answer to see if I was correct – and it seems the question relates solely to those who won the medal after it was actually inaugurated in 2000, not the retrospective winners. So both of our answers are ineligible!

Well you're both right on that I guess. I was looking at post, before the retrospective awards -
Ben Johnson (2006)
Dane Swan (2014)
Paul Seedsman (2015)
Steele Sidebottom (2016)

Apart from the Collier brothers and Gordon Coventry (each with 6), one present-day Collingwood player has played during the year for 4 premiership-winning teams. Name him.

Sorry, can I please clarify the question?
Is that a current player who has played in 2024 and has played in 4 premiership teams over his career or is it a current player who played in 4 premierships last year?

Correct David. Played for Richmond in 2017, 2019 and 2020 and for Collingwood in 2023.

Q - Prior to Nathan Murphy, name the last 3 CFC players to be retired mid-season due to injury. (played >50 games)

^ 2 that come to mind are Jordan Roughead (in 2022) and Levi Greenwood (in 2021).

Having a mental blank on the third player.
