I think he has summed up our issues fairly aptly. We simply WONT beat West Coast if we can't score.....and nothing is looking like changing. we can have all the heart in the world...as we did against Port...but if you can't put pressure on the score board, well, we might as well pack up and go back to Melbourne now and save the trip.

He used a lot of words in the article to say "kick the f&*#$%g ball"

Maybe the interchange steward can hold that up as a sign rather than the time remaining.

I wonder how we stack up for kicks backwards. We would have to be leading the metres gained for that stat.

That is funny
Could be called the negative metre gain index
or just kicks backwards metres lost.
Could have fun with the naming rights of this stat

Great journo, went champion data got some stats & wrote a story
Woopee. Did he explain why we had to play in that manner?
How many key position forwards did we have
Week in week out to kick to? How many games did Pendels Treloar
Adam’s & Sidey all play together? Etc etc etc
Dave I thought you had more of a football brain than to just say
“Our coaches are crap”

I actually agree.with the article. I feel we too will need a mini-clenout at seasons end. Not talking about the obvious ones either.

If clubs shoed interest in Treloar and Stephenson i would almost be tempted to trade them.i don't know how far this list can go. Maybe 2018 was thier best shot.

It'll be the Grand Final all over again, played the way we needed to in the first and then proceeded to play into WCE's gameplan and they should've pumped us by 3 goals.

Geez you guys can seriously overeact. Here is a list of some of the things we have had to contend with...

DeGoey - broken finger 8 weeks
Beams - Depression Season
Greenwood - 15 weeks
Stephenson - Glandular Fever in preseason
Kelly- broken elbow 8 weeks
Sidebottom - Covid Breach and baby 8 weeks
Treloar - about 10 weeks
Howe - 12 weeks
Sier - Thigh 6 weeks
Mayne - Broken face 4 weeks'
Quaynor - gash 3 weeks
Langdon - Chronic knee Season
Phillips - 5 weeks
Played 1 game at our home ground all season
Lived away from home almost all season.

Have a look at Port's team on the weekend. Almost a full compliment of players.
We missed the grand final last year by a kick and suddenly walls are caving in. Give me a spell.

Article is spot on
We just can’t score

For all the hype with Buckley and the coaching staff they have not been able to fix our midfield & forward line structure.

Yes we have injuries and so we have for 10 years. We need to stop making excuses

It’s the structure and the game plan that holds up

Look at all the good sides that win premierships

For all the hype with Nathan and as close as we have come. Close enough is not good enough. The club is here to win premierships.
No premiership in 10 years is not good enough

We need to re assess and look at fixing our structure

If this if that whatever it its all excuses

We need change it’s been too long

Which poses the eternal question in football.
Does the game plan dictate the playing list or does the playing list dictate the game plan ??

Well someone once said “show me a great team and I’ll show you a great coach”. So imo show me a great team that can make full use of the game plan and I’ll show you a great team.
