Pity the Tigers nemisis Cox is out, he terrifies Richmond, they cant handle him, and Treloar will be missed too, and Langdon, so its far from our best team, to field, against the Punt rd ferals, However, we do match up well on them, and the game will depend, as will other games, on the layoff after the virus lockdown, and which side comes up fitter, handled it better. I think we can win by around 14 points. Its going to be mighty weird though, no fans and no big crowd, just seagulls, but such is life.

I concur Piesnchess. Collingwood by 19 points. Go โ€˜Pies๐Ÿฆ…๐Ÿฆ…

I'll be keeping a keen eye on him too. Hope he can tackle and bring plenty of pressure.

While I'm keen to see JDG and Billy take the Richmond back line apart, Darcy Moore on Lynch is a title fight in the making.

Last year first up v Richmond was played in the dry Collingwood up by 38 points in the second match was in the miserable wet and was a hard slog Richmond up 31 I think. Tonight is perfect conditions and dry as no wind either. Im tipping a close one its will be close all night the pies by a slender 6 points.
Must convert 100%.
Expect a big game from Will Hoskin Elliott.
Must start well and at 3 quarter time be up by 4 goals.
key is to out smart them

I am concerned about Richmonds small forwards. I am wondering why we selected Madgen on interchange when we have Roughead, and Moore both down back. Are we using three talls against two on Richmond's forward line (our three vs Riewoldt and Lynch) and thereby allowing them an extra running, smaller and faster player? I am concerned that our side is too tall.

This.

Madgen on Caddy wouldn't have been the worst but now Higgins is playing instead.

Would bring in an extra big body midfielder like Wills from the emergencies and have someone like Mayne play deeper in defence. No more Aish to do these quiet shutdown jobs on dangerous small forwards unfortunately.

Happy to be proven wrong at the end of the game but I think we might be top heavy in defence.

Go Pies

Darcy Moore has grit and talent too
Lynch is not big on getting the hard cherry

Round 1 showed that when watching your own side playing the lack of crowd atmosphere didn't take away from the spectacle as much as expected.

Still it's just not the same without the barracking fans and I can't wait until football is really back with the stands packed.

As for tonight it will be fascinating to see if we look to replicate the game plan we employed against Richmond in our first meeting last season.

It was a strange night that one with our side completely dominating possession, setting the tempo and yet Richmond were still in the game until early in the last quarter mainly because they scored easily whenever they broke through our system.

Think of the poor seagulls!
No discarded junk food on the terraces.
Will watch with interest if any of the chip stealers will attend.

Will be good to get this game over and done with, while both sides are still somewhat rusty...

I hope we can attend some home games before the season finishes.

I had planned to have attended a few games by now, before covid-19.

I just saw our boys run onto the field. The roar we got from the virtual crowd was bigger than we get when the fans are actually there.
