Got 17 days off work now. I'm pretty happy about that. |

Done a 2+km walk each morning for the last 3 mornings, took the car out today, no issues.
Did a Coles run. Didn't bag anything at the checkout, just put it all in the trolley then bagged it as I loaded it into the car, making sure each bag was lightly loaded.
Been working on posture and sitting, frequent flexing of the neck, starting to get the nerve pain from neck into shoulder under some form of control (touch wood), only pain relief required has been panadol and that's been more out of suggestion to take it regularly for the first few days rather than I needed pain relief.
Of the heavy duty ones, just been taking 1 before bed after some of the Red medicine, seems to be working.
Biggest risk here is I'm going to feel fine and normal before I should and do something dumb. |
Good to hear but you are umm driving? _________________ “The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way its animals are treated.” |

Yeah,
The info sheet said don't drive for 5-7 days. It's been 4 and I felt fine so no dramas. _________________ Every dead body on Mt Everest was once a highly motivated person, so maybe just calm the **** down. |

^ at the risk of sounding like nervous Aunty Nellie - try to limit driving for 7-10 days if you can - not because you can’t or how you feel just because of the damage you can do if you have to do an emergency stop. Thanks Aunty
I drove this morning cos I bought an antique typewriter off ebay (don't ask) and had to go pick it up. Heavy bastard, got the bloke to put it in the back seat of the ute for me, which is where it will stay for either 5 weeks or until I figure out how to get it to the shed without picking it up. _________________ Every dead body on Mt Everest was once a highly motivated person, so maybe just calm the **** down. |

Riding 18 km’s to work and 18 back: especially on the way home at night so few cars, no wind, no rain and no pollution makes me very happy. If I can ride most days then in about 5 weeks hope to have some measure of fitness back.
The quickest has been 47 minutes which includes traffic lights etc. Driving takes about 35. _________________ “I even went as far as becoming a Southern Baptist until I realised they didn’t keep ‘em under long enough” Kinky Friedman |

Feeling good.
No pain killers at all since yesterday morning, slept the night without them.
Pulled off the waterproof bandage this morning, all looking good. No signs of infection, looks really healed.
I only get a twinge when I move the wrong way but that's pretty damn good for only 6 days post surgery.
Did some grocery shopping today, it's actually easy to manage the bag weights when I'm limited to how much I can lift, don't bag it at the checkout. Just do like at Aldi, load all the items back into the trolley instead of bagging them, take it out to the car and bag them there as you load. That way you keep like items together and keep the bag weight down.
So you use more bags and take more trips to carry them inside once home, so what? _________________ Every dead body on Mt Everest was once a highly motivated person, so maybe just calm the **** down. |

Mrs WPT put a few meat off cuts ( a vegetarian who made me a beef curry yesterday) on the shed roof in the backyard for the resident magpies. Later she was pruning in the front garden. A mother and baby magpie took the bits of meat from the backyard and put in the front yard in front of Mrs WPT all the while warbling away for ages before eating the said bits of meat. 😊😊😊 _________________ “I even went as far as becoming a Southern Baptist until I realised they didn’t keep ‘em under long enough” Kinky Friedman |
