So I'm having a crack at my first Subject since joining up after watching Toby Greene last night. It has long been a position of mine that you can't win a flag without at least someone in the team that adds that bit of dare I say male swagger/bravado/testosterone. Looking back at our last 2 flags thinking of Swany and Pants - doubt we win without either of them. Neither were shrinking violets and certainly walked the talk. Think of Dennis Rodman at the bulls, by MJ's own admission he was key to their success. Don't get me wrong there should be a no DH policy and certain actions are unacceptable but oh I crave for that spark. How much of folk law is around the likes of Brereton and Carey (yes I chose to look outside our club) both hardly shrinking violets. Regrettably (IMO) the club seems intent on presenting a group of clean cut angels. With the exception of JDG and out of favour Sier (don't get me started) who fills this spot? Oh and yes Sidey had a few too many - Mr cleanskin himself - brought a smile to my face. Anyway I'm sure (and hoping) this will spark some responses assuming it passes vetting. _________________ It's a simple game. |

I agree re. Maynard. He definately has mongrel, but at the same time a really nice guy. Best of both worlds with Bruz. |

Worthington was underrated as a very tough footballer. He, Magro and Millane scared the daylights out of the opposition. _________________ Don't confuse your current path with your final destination. Just because it's dark and stormy now doesn't meant that you aren't headed for glorious sunshine! |

I have no idea why. It shocked me and made me very sad.
This is a favourite Nickster topic. There must be dozens of threads claiming that if only we had lots of badboys, everything would be good. It doesn't work that way. |
