Post subject: Speed Cameras | |
|
I've just noticed recently mobile speed cameras are now located in the rear of mobile speed cam cars parked on the side of the road.
Before they were mounted at the front so it was very obvious and gave you plenty of time to check your speed and adjust if necessary.
So just a warning to watch your speed and be more vigilant with this newer technology. Rather money in drivers hands than the Guvmint. |

By the time you see these new cars, it's too late.
And the new forward facing camera get both sides of the road. _________________ Fighting against the objectification of woman. |

It’s not too hard though: don’t speed & people won’t cop a fine _________________ “I even went as far as becoming a Southern Baptist until I realised they didn’t keep ‘em under long enough” Kinky Friedman |

We won’t need speed limits when cars are illegal. |

Inner city delusional. Cos that will work for people who live in rural areas with no public transport. _________________ Every dead body on Mt Everest was once a highly motivated person, so maybe just calm the **** down. |

It’ll make it a little difficult for me to travel between my properties, too but it’s good to know you assumed I thought it would be a good thing. |

This!!!
I’d understand if cameras were set up in areas of bad accidents, but putting them on hills where accidents rarely occur is just revenue raising.
Dropping the speed limit for no reason then constantly putting cameras of police cars in the area is just revenue raising.
But I drive at a speed I know no police car hiding is going to bother pulling me over, but the speed camera will send out that fine for 103 in a 100 zone. Luckily they were usually pretty obvious to spot a camera car and had an opportunity to brake.
But not sure how long these fines take these days, but I do worry about one of these rear facing cameras from Mother’s Day, situated nicely around a bend at the bottom of a steep hill. |

I do think there should be at least 5 km/h grace, for what it's worth. 3 km/h has always struck me as pretty draconian (and very different to the NSW/ACT model where, as far as I'm aware, you get a whole 10% margin of error). _________________ "Every time we witness an injustice and do not act, we train our character to be passive in its presence." – Julian Assange |

There is nothing worse than getting a fine for going a little bit over.
Theres a difference between going 5km over and 20km over. And I'd say a huge % of people snapped wouldnt be dangerously driving at the time. But to the letter of the law, it's speeding. I mean you could be going 61 in a 60 zone and thats speeding. You wouldnt be given a fine in that case, but still its speeding. So there isnt much you can do when you're snapped.
A lot of people I know have become over cautious drivers and sometimes that is just as dangerous. And you can bet those people you see absolutely flying along the roads get f-all fines and are probably the types to get out of a fine if they get one.
It's easy to say dont speed, but you may as well not drive then. Because every single person that has driven a car has gone over the speed limit. It's just they probably havnt gone over by more than 10km or more like some psychos you see. _________________ A Goal Saved Is 2 Goals Earned! |
