I know theres been a lot of talk regarding best grand finals and finals in general, but what about the home and away games which ones stand out for you.

Mines was the match v north Melbourne I think it was in 2018 mcg on a sat arvo game. We were like 54 points down at half time and came back in the second half and won the match by 20 points it was one of Collingwoods best come back by far.
Any Anzac day win v Essendon are up there too.Same goes for Queens birthday clash with Melbourne.
Last years v power at marvel was our most complete match of last season.
Along with I know it was only JLT match but our game v Richmond at wang was a good way to start the practice matches too but most of both top players weren't playing though.
But which games stand out for you must be a home and way game.

Our last match v bulldogs at marvel was also great but lacked intensity and felt more like a practice match and no one there to cheer them on felt a bit strange.

2017 against the Weagles at Etihad. The Sack busted his shoulder, but he toughed it out and we held on for a famous victory. That was inspirational.

The 11-goal in a row game against the Crows at Etihad in 2011. I remember being in Paris and checking the score and couldn't believe we were getting carved up by them. Checked an hour later and we were slaughtering them. Watching those highlights on YouTube is great fun.

Was anyone at the game we played freemantle at the mcg on a wet cold july Saturday arvo it was I think 1999 it was our first win in a year there was around 30 thousand there. We won I think by 12 points and it was a relief for coach Tony Shaw.

A lot of my games that stand out were at Moorabbin being a bayside boy born and bred.

Carmens 11 v Young 7
The John Greening game
The day that Kekovich, Carmen and Rene Kink all played in our forward line, more memorable in the Aints Social Club that night , when the players all came in for a drink, first in was Robert Hyde, I thought you look bigger than on the ground, then Ian "Stropper" Cooper I thought wow you are a big barrel chested bugger, but twhen he Fabulous Phil strolled in my thoughts were you are a "perfect human" with the porn star moustache, then Big Rene walked again thinking hell you are a really big bugger, but then the crowd parted (like the Red Sea in the 10 Commandments) as Big Keka walked In. We won the game and the boys left the Aints Social Club before they needed to win the fight!
I think Ialso went to the first ever game at Moorabbin
(we lost but won the same game the year later)

But a more recent game was v the Aints at the MCG in 2010 and we won by about 7 goals (probably 6 goal 6 behinds) but I realised that 2010 was going to be special

Last game v North at Waverley 1990 we outscored the kangas by about 20 points each 1/4 and won by roughly 80 points I thought that is was the most complete game I had ever seen us play except for as the siren went. Mick Martin talked Pants and Pants was not that happy he had Martyn on the ground with his Fist cocked about to give him a left right combination and the whole Collingwood cried out "DONT DO IT" thankfully he didn't.

I might have selective memory but!!!

That match when we played North Melbourne and came back from half time that was in 2015. It was a cold and very wet Sunday afternoon match.

There was a match v hawthorn too at Waverley in around 1986 where there was around 100 thousand amazing crowd attendance but bummer pies lost though in this match by 12 points. It was waverleys largest crowd at an afl/vfl game.

The draw against Essendon Anzac Day 1995 - crowd 94850 - is the best game I've seen.

At half time I thought that it was about the most frustrating game that I had ever seen. The thing that really got to me was woeful delivery into the forward line - look for the leading forward then kick it over his head, sideways or into the crowd. It was a great second half though. Does that make it an average game?

My recollection was that the record crowd of about that size was against Hawthorn in 1981. It was the first place I ever drove to after obtaining my driver’s licence. The crush of cars getting out after the game was so bad that an ambulance could not get in to collect a pedestrian that was hit by a car. Every seat was taken, the standing room was full and that included all of the aisles and steps as well. After that game there was a bit of an outcry as to how dangerous it was & there was a lower ground capacity introduced. The mists of time have dimmed my memory as to what that capacity was but I recall that when we played Carlton there in 90, the crowd was as large as the 81 game but the AFL published a false lower attendance figure which miraculously was the same number as the reduced ground capacity.

Here’s about 30 minutes of footage (selected portions of the second and third quarters, not highlights) of some magnificent play from 1990 - the second Carlton game. Banks, Daicos, Scotty Russell, Wrighty and Gavin Brown all prominent and playing brilliant football. If you’ve not seen this, you should watch - some of the play is.so good it is beyond belief. Daicos is so magical, it’s like there’s a hole where my heart should be when I remember that he doesn’t play any more. And Browny at his youthful peak was unstoppable - one of his goals is exquisite and, gee, imagine a FF that good (he was giving Silvagni a complete bath, so they moved the Slug to centre half forward to get him away from the real star) who could go in for the centre clearance and then, to give his captain a breather, move up to the wing to dismantle Bradley for a few minutes.
