Poor old Fraser - was having his best season when he was picked in that pretend state of origin match (2008) and was injured - never the same after that. Absolute travesty - ruined the remainder of 2008 and was not the same in 2009. Jolly coming in seemed to smash his confidence completely. Was a fine player for a long period of time. Remember thinking how sad it all was at the end of 2010 H&A where his last 2 games were a draw and a loss - the fact the only time we looked vulnerable in the back half of that season was when JF played.

It was more bittersweet at the end of the GF with O'Bree, Lockyer, Medhurst and Fraser all on the ground, watching as the rest of the team celebrated. i did feel for the 3 that had missed out on a win after the losses.

Probably only for the oldies here but here are four players would have gone on to be club legends if not for our injury curse. They are Graham Reitchman, Leigh Walker, Shane Muir and Danny Roach. They were all guns who at the time of recruitment were highly sought. Who knows how many flags could have been won by us in the Eighties? We are definitely cursed.

I remember Lee Walker well. I reckon he was the most bow legged footballer to ever play the game. His knees didn’t stand a chance with that body shape.
Met him a few times when he lived close by and you couldn’t meet a nicer bloke ( Peter McKenna aside )
He deserved much more luck than the footy gods dealt him.

And yes, Sean Rusling could be added into that grouping on promise alone.
His ( supposed ) leg speed proved to be all to much for his dodgy hamstrings.
