With Easter cheer and positive wishes, high Draft picks aside, we have had some genuine wins over the years via Trade in recruits and left of field selections. These include:

* Jack Crisp: stubborn insistence by Hine for a steak knife sweetener via the original Beams trade

* Craig Davis: 89 goals in his first season for 183cm Boofa

* Shane Morwood: was seemingly the 7th in our most important recruits via the "New Magpies Committee" for 1983 behind more feted players such as Garry Shaw, Geoff Raines, Greg Phillips, David Cloke etc..

* Leigh Brown: for pick 73 in the 2008 Draft.

* Tony Francis: pick 95 in his Draft year

* Scott Burns: pick 90 in his Draft year

* Jimmy Clement/Brodie Holland: trade for 2001 debut for the Pies

* Dane Swan for pick 58

* Paul Medhurst as steak knives add on in the Tarrant trade made All Australian in 2nd season

* Jordan Roughead: for pick in the 70's

So there are always some silver linings. Happy Easter all.

Great list there.

Craig Davis....what a season. Never kicked 10 but had more than a handful 6+ goal games.

yep....he's almost too small for a current AFL team.

How times have changed.
