^^ Agree with you guys, the AFL won't let the Suns go. Word is North Melbourne will be the first team to fold or more likely merge (with the GCS probably!). It'll be a Vic team who goes, without a doubt.
And good on Eddie for putting TJ in his place, who was looking for a headline out of Collingwood. Put the blowtorch to other clubs. |

Stage 3 will be with us for the next few months till end of june at least. Stage 4 will be introduced if needed also.
Ive heard 6 months is the general period of time its like a guide that's on current tracking.
the flat of the curve must be sustained for at least 2-3 months and a dip also if we are going to stage 2.
This is going to take a while. |

AFL hellbent on an August start. League on life support re: cash and no TV revenue this year is catastrophic. _________________ Fighting against the objectification of woman. |

Interesting the rumour mill around sport in Australia is rampant
From a AFL perspective if there is no games played the remainder of this year only 3 clubs have the financial cash reserves to survive without having to liquidate assets to stay afloat and that's after they receive there assistance from the AFL
West Coast Collingwood and Richmond have sufficient cash reserves all other clubs may be asset rich but are cash poor or have large debts to be serviced
The AFL like the NRL are pushing to start ASAP because they are fully aware if there is no play this year the likelihood is clubs won't survive |

Only four clubs could survive football-free season without AFL help
https://www.theage.com.au/sport/afl/only-four-clubs-could-survive-football-free-season-without-afl-help-20200403-p54gsn.html
"In a receivership model that will essentially turn league chief Gillon McLachlan and the AFL Commission into the competition's banker, clubs unable to meet cash-flow demands will now borrow funds previously deemed extra dividends from head office.
...
And to underline the increasing differences between the ''haves'' and the ''have nots'', the wealthier clubs such as West Coast, Richmond and Collingwood - disenchanted at having to follow receivership rules - have achieved a special clause in the new agreement. This will exempt them from having to regularly open their books to head office.
...
Further divisions emerged with clubs questioning the unfairness of the debt-free financial circumstances of Gold Coast and Greater Western Sydney, which are funded each year to the tune of roughly $25 million respectively.
...
The fact that only one-third of the 18 clubs boast bank balances that could take them through to the end of July has underlined the false nature of the profits announced by the majority of the clubs at the end of last season." |

feeling more confident by the day that footy can be played again this year.
Albeit with no crowds.
but not getting completely on top of this virus but getting reasonable control.
How much are the authorities willing to relax rules with minimum risk????
It is going to be interesting for the next few months. |

Glad to see you've moved on from the doom & gloom of 150,000 potential deaths in Australia
Maybe we can hope for the 17 round season to be completed and crowds back at least in time for finals - regular season games without atmosphere I can reluctantly accept but finals in an empty stadium would be very disappointing _________________ https://forever.collingwoodfc.com.au/sav-sinks-the-dockers/ |
