That’s interesting and I wonder will we replace him from within the club
Or recruit externally _________________ I'm not arguing--just explaining why i am right |

We will probably get in some rookie because Ed will want to avoid paying tax or some such nonesense. _________________ kill for collingwood! |

It’s never good when you lose one of your key recruiting people. They leave with so much I P.
The best way we can offset this, is to hopefully snag a key recruiting plank from another club.
Get it done, Pies. |

And our recruiting team was already one of the smallest in the AFL before this (though quantity is no good without quality). |

Bloody hell; their recruiting already seems top notch. I reckon they’ll be big movers this year (injury notwithstanding) _________________ “I even went as far as becoming a Southern Baptist until I realised they didn’t keep ‘em under long enough” Kinky Friedman |

10 years hes given the club and with our current leaders in this space not likely to get an opportunity for the top job anytime soon.
At some stage you have to thank them for the 10 years and wish them the best. Especially if their new role is a huge step up. Its a great selling point when attracting the next best and brightest talent. Last thing you want is an industry thinking collingwood recruiting is a dead end job. _________________ "Even when Im old and gray, I wont be able to play but Ill still love the game"

No doubt you have an actual example where something similar happened in the past? |
Not paying for a real ruck coach, skimping on replacing assistant coaches previous years.
Don't know why you're getting snippy, Ed, himself, admitted cutting expenditure to not pay the tax. _________________ kill for collingwood! |

We'd have to ask what "top job" would mean for someone like that too.
For Wright, it was becoming football manager, which is a totally different role. |
