Not sure if we can have a functional legal system if we start shaming defence lawyers for whom they choose to represent. _________________ All watched over by machines of loving grace |

From a different era, Derek and Clive (Peter Cook and Dudley Moore for the Milly's), a scene from an English boarding school.

All people however distasteful need to be legally represented otherwise we can have a panel of elders or just throw a spear. The Nuremberg reference is pathetic & trivialises complex issues. Panel of elders would be a much better system.
And the Nuremberg reference doesn't trivialise a complex issue, at all. It's simply the extreme version of justifying one's actions via the comment "simply doing one's job", and actually reflects how complicated these things are. _________________ kill for collingwood! |

I'm still perplexed that a Saint could have ever gone by the name of Kevin.
Kevin is the bloke that works at your local hardware store.

Of course the reference triviliases the issue now matter how much you try to rationalize it (for goodness sake) _________________ âI even went as far as becoming a Southern Baptist until I realised they didnât keep âem under long enoughâ Kinky Friedman |

But society has decided that an adversarial legal system is a good thing to have. OTOH society has decided to move away from killing people, even as legal punishment for extreme crimes. This is a difference of kind, not just of degree. |
