Maybe in the 80s? There were incidents, but the media didn't report on them.

Yeah I should clarify when was our last pre-season when the media didn't report on any "incidents." Every club has "incidents", ours just get made public every bloody pre-season. Probably before social media and the internet, I'd wager.

@BazBoy onwards and upwards!

I fail to see any incident here. A player who is not a current active player had a car accident. So what?

Did he run children over while being drunk?
Did he kill or injure anyone?
Did he leave the scene of the accident?
Is he Sudanese?
Does he have Coronavirus?

It’s an incident when the facts are known: the rest is speculation (whether one has guessed correctly or not)

Easily the most incident free pre season we have had in the last few years ( TO DATE )
Other clubs have lost multiple players for extended periods but we have remained relatively incident free TO DATE.
No Collingwood player has been talked about as being very reluctant to stay on with the club
No Collingwood player has been identified as having gone back home because they are homesick.
As for Beams, the club has had an entire pre season to prepare for the coming season without Beams. It’s not like his unavailability is a bolt out of the blue and the mid field strategies have to be thrown out the window.

When we start losing key players for extended periods only 2/3 weeks out from the season proper, is when we can all start bemoaning our bad luck again.

Yes.

Not for me though, not sure 🤔 if it’s the new scales or eating too much; must be the new bathroom scales

Yep it’s the scales, I’ve just thrown a new set out the window myself, and funny, they don’t lie so much now
