Is a dead bird good luck?
While a dead bird might seem like a bad omen, many ancient Greeks actually viewed it as a positive sign and good luck. However, others say that seeing dead birds in ancient Greece also meant war was coming.
War is coming. |

We've had a flock of yellow tailed black cockatoos hang around our place this week. If you squint your eyes a bit the yellow looks white. Surely this is an omen? |

Is this now a bad omen for Thursday ?
I immediately thought we will lose.
What can I do to reverse this so the The Footy Gods will smile on us this September ?? |
Just like what you dream in a dream...the opposite will happen in reality.
So the Pies will kill the #$#!%# downhill skiers this Thursday by 30 points!!!! |

I've been working on this site in the SE Goldfields for almost a year (19th September) and hardly ever see any wildlife at all. Never seen a Magpie, until today.
Sitting in my cruiser filling a genie at the TSF and a pair of Magpies land on a tree 5 metres from me, sing their awesome tune, then fly off. Good lord! _________________ Don't count the days, make the days count. |

^ Ha!. I'm in Manchester, at the moment. A bus just went past the apartment where I'm staying. The destination? "Bolton via Pendlebury". |

20 years ago I watched the Holden in front of me run over 2 magpies on the road. Everyone knows the animal on the GMH logo, and who we played against in the GF that year… _________________ http://youtu.be/hvtdbfI1sqQ |

Yellow -tailed black cockatoos are a sign of rain. Also, a snake doesn't die until the sun goes down. _________________ The future is hidden from all men, and the greatest football matches hang on the smallest chances. - Demosthenes |

Maybe it's an omen that on GF day, many Magpies will go missing _________________ Fighting against the objectification of woman. |

Yes folks, even in New Zealand ....
This week, the last Air NZ plane receives its black & white colours, completing the lengthy change-over from the old teal & white.

I picked up Peter Ryan’s Side By Side today. It covers the 2009 campaign. I decided to read ten chapters. Chapter 10 turned out to be Death of the Bump It is about Maxwell’s pre-season suspension for a hard, but fair bump that broke an Eagle’s jaw (hit by Maxwell’s head not his shoulder). There was no report at the time, but the match review committee cited him. He got three weeks plus one for contesting the charge. Previously ten appeals had been made with ten failures. Even so, Collingwood appealed and won. Maxwell’s bump had been fair, but he had been charged with rough conduct as it was said that he’d had the option of not bumping and could have contested the ball instead. The original citation was based on the outcome, neither the intent nor action. The appeal judges agreed with Collingwood that it was reasonable that he’d bumped (fairly) and the broken jaw was an unfortunate consequence.
So that’s my omen.
Good luck tomorrow Brayden. |
